When I was a freshman in high school, I was dating this girl who I was super into. I had known her since the 6th grade, but only recently started dating.

One day, me, her and my best friend (along with a few others) went downtown to the public library to do some studying and chilling.

We were having a good time and whatnot, and my homie (who is very funny and engaging) was making us all laugh.

I got the feeling that my girl was into him. Sure enough, a couple hours later, she brought me into the back of the library behind some book shelves and told me that she liked my homie.

At first, I was a lil hurt, but I kept it super player and told her it was all good. I understood (to some level, but not fully at this point in life) that these **** ain't loyal.

I knew that me being upset wouldn't really change anything, and I knew I could replace her because I believed in myself.

So I walked immediately up to my homie, told him that my girl liked him, and I put him on right there on the spot. I gave him my blessing to go after her and they ended up being in a relationship for the next year.

I knew that shit, if not me, it would be someone either way, why try to stop them from making something happen? I also figured that she was for the streets regardless, and that she would prolly do the same to him, but that was on him if he wanted to risk it.

Sure enough, she bounced on him a year later as well. Hypergamy at it's finest, even as freshmen in high school.

Point of the story is that, I had two options when presented with this scenario. Get upset and try to stop them, or keep it player and let it do what it do.

In the end, I felt nothing towards the situation and I was happy to put my bro on as me and ole girl had just recently started dating and it wasn't anything serious.

Don't let the decisions of these women get you off center my brothers. Expect the fuckery and always keep it player. 

The right ones will want to stick around, you won't have to try to force it.

A lot of guys ask me, "Shaun, how do I avoid getting put in the friend zone?"

First of all, you don't get "put" in the friend zone. If you find you are currently in the friend zone, you have gotten yourself there.

Ask yourself what are you doing wrong? Are you hanging out in group settings? 

Are you making it clear what you want?

Or are you beating around the bush because you're too scared to get rejected?

There is no excuse for being in the friend zone if that's not a place you want to be.
