According to Jonathan Hall KC (current Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation in the UK, an important dude), Having a hand in the development of an end-to-end encrypted application could be interpreted as assisting a foreign power by way of "double ignorance". Essentially, one wouldn't know they are helping a foreign power (by providing an encrypted service to users), and the foreign power wouldn't know they are being helped.
What in the world is going on man...

I hope none of you have utilised the built-in update feature within Notepad++ because it's just been revealed that in June 2025 the Chinese backed cyber crime group "Violet Typhoon" managed to hijack the hosting provider, redirecting in-app update traffic from the official Notepad++ website to a malicious one. This was only fully resolved in early December 2025.
It's currently believed that this was a targeted attack against specific individuals and organisations, however, it's still a little sketch IMO.
Update the application if you use it, or uninstall it and resort to using Vim from now on.

Another year, another semester. I struggled last year to figure out whether or not to write a script for my videos and wanted to get your opinion.
In my eyes, a scripted video builds a better flow, with less cuts needed in audio and video if I'm using a webcam for visuals, however it takes me more time to make these videos, and when I'm aiming to get a video released which is time sensitive, (covering a news article or something) more often than not I stop working on the video half way through finishing it. Terrible I know.
Essentially, would you like slightly more quality (scripted) or slightly more quantity (unscripted)?
