THAT VIRAL 6th GRADE CLASS PHOTO of MICHAEL JACKSON? Yeah...I'm in it.

I’ve been sitting with this for some time now… watching the conversations, the photos, the memories resurface.

So, I’ll say this once, clearly:

I was there.

6th grade. Same classroom.

I was also the only student of color in that class.

So, my experience wasn’t just about him—it was about what it felt like to exist in that room, at that time, watching someone who the world knew and loved, sitting across the room from me.

There are things people get wrong about those early years. There are things that never make it into documentaries or films.

And there are small, quiet moments that stay with you longer than anything public ever could.

I’m not here to chase clout or argue in comment sections.

But I am willing to share my perspective—truthfully, respectfully, and in my own words.

Especially now, with his story being told again on a larger stage.

If you’re here because you’ve seen that class photo circulating… yes, I’m in it.

And yes, there’s more to that story.
