While the first film has the magic, wonder and the heart, Wicked for Good is a sequel that eliminates all loose ends which is a good conclusion to the stories of Glinda and Elphaba. The sequel started off to pick up what was left from the cliffhanger that the first one left. Elphaba is on her way to seek revenge against the wizard of Oz. As the story progressed, we learn more the cruelty of Madame Morrible (hence the name "horrible), a bit of Glinda's back story, some questionable actions on the first film, Fiyero's heart and the origins of the main characters from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz (still creeps me out to know the dark secrets of this film).

The acting is just as the same as the first one as every cast were able to pull off a wonderful performance for their respective characters but Ariana Grande's delusional actions and dramatic reactions were really spot on despite sometimes they were cringe which only proves that she did well. Their performance felt as if there was no gap in between films. And what is also executed nicely in this film is how the friendship of Glinda and Elphaba evolved and stayed despite everything that has happened, especially that love triangle dilemma.

While the direction and theme are pretty straightforward since it picked up the pieces that were left from the first film, I can say that the cinematography, the visuals, the editing and the overall effects improved and were top notch! This is where this sequel tops the first one in my opinion. There was this scene wherein Elphaba casted a spell to protect Fiyero from danger and that sequence was really amazing (the audience even clapped after that scene). You will feel the visuals, the colors and the emotions were really good. Other notable sequences include the wedding scene (that petals on the floor levitating as Glinda walks was just really a good addition), the room of the wizard scene wherein Glinda and Elphaba hold hands while wonder and great visuals were shown, the scenes wherein the Wizard of Oz characters are shown in the background, and many more. (Also that scene when Elphaba tries to talk to the talking animals reminded me of the scene from the Narnia book Prince Caspian where Caspian talks to the Narnians and a celebration happens thereafter. It just made me think how it would have been if the film used this direction instead of the debate that we had in the adaption.)

There were a couple of scenes from the first one that made me ask myself why. Such as why Elphaba is shown as the evil witch when she is not the evil one and why do the Ozians believe that she is truly bad? Also, why when Glinda announced to the Ozians that the wicked witch is dead - pertaining to Elphaba, she did not show any enthusiasm or emotion that she is relieved or happy that the enemy has been defeated. Both and among others were answered here. We see that Oz explains why he cannot tell the Ozians that he is a fraud. It's what the people would want to believe. Despite telling them the dark truth, they'll stick to what they believe in which is also happening in the real world. Glinda's expression also made sense when she did not show any happiness when she announced that Elphaba is dead because at the end, they were still truly friends and they made a pact. These scenes may be small but the attention to detail were truly precise.

So if you've enjoyed the first one, you'll surely enjoy this sequel-conclusion. I for one believe that this is already a good ending to the story. No need for another sequel as it may affect or destroy the quality of these films overall. While you may feel the lack of "musical" sense in this film, the overall ensemble cast performance are enough to keep you entertained. And if I also may, see it in Screen X or IMAX. Man those visuals and cinematography were just beyond compel to be seen on the big screen. The experience was truly amazing. Just another reason for you to see this. This is also the most recent film wherein I've experienced that the audience clapped as the credits rolled -kudos! So if you've enjoyed the first one, you'll enjoy this one too! And remember, WICKED is good.

Return to the magic world of Oz but this time, we are taken back years before the actual events of the original film took place and with a different perspective. Serving as a somewhat prequel, the story follows the story of friendship and eventual conflict between G'alinda and Elphaba as both enters Shiz university. While G'alinda dreams to be one of the greatest witch ever, Elphaba was just there to look after her sister until an accident happen that will lead her to her fate.

This movie is full of magic and wonder. It is a musical but not to the point that every scene they are singing. It's a well balance of all elements it can showcase. You will see and feel the creativity of this film from the props, make up, special effects and man the cinematography was just really good. The color grading just adds magic and this is better experienced in the big screen. On top of those, you have a really good ensemble cast. The talents of Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and the whole ensemble cast were beyond compel and they really did showcase what they can in this film.

This is a film that make you feel like a little kid who wants magic. Probably one of the best films of 2024. It has a lot of lessons from facing new challenges, embracing who you are and showing the world your capabilities. As an adult, you may just have the emotion for the protagonists' growing friendship but would still be amazed with the overall film. A film that is suitable for all audiences. In a present time full of superhero flicks, Wicked brings you to a world of awe and wonder. It's almost 3 hours of runtime is a definite worthy of your time. Looking forward the sequel. Kudos and congratolations to the whole cast and crew for this adaptation!

If you have a chance to watch the sequel on IMAX or screen x, do it. It surely will be worth it. And remember, WCKD is good.

The closer you look, the less you see. And I did! Seated 3rd row from the screen. It was trippy yet it was a good experience. The latest installment of Now You See Me franchise is set 9 years since the sequel. Think of this as a reunion film wherein the four horsemen are back together again after "the eye" sends out cards to reunite them. Or did it?

This sequel also features newcomers which stand as the main protagonists alongside the horsemen. The mission is to take down a worldwide criminal network and retrieve a diamond. While the narrative is quite simple, the twists were surprising. This third installment really did well with plot twists after plot twists. Overall, it is a very entertaining film.

Despite its entertaining and wow factors such as the fight and magic scenes, in the end this feels like a spin-off instead of a direct sequel. The newbies were more like the actual main protagonists than any of the horsemen. Sadly if the Horsemen were removed or replaced in the film, it won't make any difference in the plot. One character's fate was also a bit unnecessary and everyone forgot about him/her by the third act.

Is this better than the first two? I think that depends on your perspective but the first one is definitely still the best. A rewatch may change my initial thoughts on this film though. Does it deserve another sequel? A yes for me especially that ending scene. The problem is how they will utilize all the cast since in this film they are doubled than the previous one. It could have been better in many ways. Kudos to those behind the trailer. You really did a good job hiding plot points in the trailer that were only shown in the film.

As a verdict, yes a good popcorn movie. It's really good to see the horsemen again. As for the fans, this is an entertaining one. Watch it to see it.
