I had a special show in New York with the Pashtun community based in New York US. Pashtun in NYC are working in different fields & contributing to the local community.
In this live show the host Siyar Ali Shah discusses the deteriorating security situation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Mubarak Ali. The situation rang alarm bells after a session judge Shakirullah Marwat posted in north Waziristan was abducted by two dozens armed men on broad daylight when he was returning from duty and was on his way to D.I.Khan. Interestingly, a video of the said judge was released by the alleged captors and the judge in the pre-recorded video was requesting the Chief Justice of the Peshawar high court for meeting demands of the abductors for his release. But few hours after his video had surfaced on different social media platforms, he judge on mysteriously released and a statement of CTD confirmed his release saying the judge was rescued from captivity and reached back home safely. The circumstances in which the released or rescue for that matter was made raised many questions, as some reports suggested that a hefty money was paid to the alleged captors to ensure the judged safe release.
Khyber Online with Siyar Ali Shah with expert Mubarak Ali talks about the devastating effects of climate change in Pakistan particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which is the most climate hit area in recent areas. Climate crisis is taking its toll on Pakistan but the governments both provincial & federal seem unmoved in addressing the issue of climate change. The part that makes the climate crisis more serious & exacerbate is lack of awareness, people in climate vulnerable areas lack the basic knowledge to deal with the effects of climate changes.
Here, I speak with journalist Ashfaq Bangash on the security situation of the region especially the potential consequences of Moscow terrorists attacks on Pakistan & the region at large.
