CPI Extends Support to TVK to Uphold the Verdict and Protect Tamil Nadu’s Secular, Egalitarian Legacy

The people of Tamil Nadu have delivered a verdict in favour of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam led by C. Joseph Vijay. In a parliamentary democracy, the mandate of the people must be respected in both letter and spirit. The attempt by the BJP to create uncertainty through backchannel manoeuvres and by misusing the office of the Governor, instead of inviting the single largest party to form the government and prove its majority on the floor of the Assembly, is deeply undemocratic and disrespectful to the people. Questions of majority must be settled in the Assembly and not through political manipulation behind the walls of Raj Bhavan.

Tamil Nadu has a proud political and social legacy shaped by struggles for workers’ rights, communal harmony, rationalism, social justice, federalism and equality. These values are deeply rooted in the consciousness of the people of the state. The CPI is of the firm view that the politics and ideology of the RSS-BJP stand in opposition to this historic legacy and pose a serious threat to the social harmony, secular fabric and democratic character of Tamil Nadu. The people have rejected attempts to communalise and divide society and have voted with the expectation that a government reflecting this verdict must be formed. Legal technicalities and selective interpretations cannot be weaponised to create an opening for the BJP in a state where its divisive politics have been consistently rejected by the people. The CPI expects the incoming government led by the TVK to uphold and strengthen these historic values in governance and public life, and to remain committed to the aspirations of the people of Tamil Nadu.

It is with this understanding, and with the larger objective of a prosperous, secular, democratic and egalitarian Tamil Nadu, that the Communist Party of India has decided to extend its support to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam for the formation of the government. The CPI and the Left movement have always been an intrinsic part of the social, cultural and political life of Tamil Nadu, standing firmly with workers, peasants, youth, women and all oppressed sections. We shall continue to uphold the interests of the people, defend democratic values and raise the voice of the voiceless both inside and outside the legislature.

तेलंगणातील ऊसतोड मजूर महिलेची सुटका करण्यात माकपच्या कार्यकर्त्यांना यश

नांदेड : वेठबिगार पद्धतीने राबवून घेण्याची पद्धती आज देखील अस्तित्वात असल्याचे उदाहरण साखर कारखानदार करीत असल्याची घटना पुढे आली आहे. मेडिगुडा येथिल चार लेकराच्या आईला कर्नाटका, सातारा मार्गे थकीत रक्कम देण्यात यावी अन्यथा सोडण्यात येणार नाही. अशी घटना घडली आहे. तेलंगणातील आदिलाबाद जिल्ह्यातील मेडिगुडा येथिल ऊसतोड कामगार महिलेला ४० हजार रुपये बाकी आहेत असे कारण सांगून डांबून ठेवण्यात आले होते.
पीडित महिलेच्या आईला नांदेड येथील मार्क्सवादी कम्युनिस्ट पक्षाचे कार्यकर्ते मदत करतील म्हणून नांदेड येथे पाठविण्यात आले होते.

पेनूर येथिल मुकादमाकडे ती महिला असल्याचे तीच्या आईने माकप सचिव कॉ. गंगाधर गायकवाड यांना सांगितले. कॉ. गायकवाड यांनी पक्षातील तालुका कमिटीच्या सभासदांसोबत चर्चा करून त्या महिलेची सुटका करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला.

जिल्ह्याचे पोलीस अधीक्षक अबीनाश कुमार यांना सर्व घटना सविस्तर सांगण्यात आली. एसपी साहेबांनी कसलाही विलंब न करता तपासाची चक्रे फिरविली, गोपनीय पद्धतीने त्यांनी माहिती गोळा केली आणि सोनखेड पोलीस ठाण्याच्या हद्दीत असलेल्या मोठे पेनूर येथून ऊसतोड कामगार महिलेला सुखरूप पोलीस ठाणे येथे आणण्यात आले.
मुकादम, सहायक पोलीस निरीक्षक आणि माकप कार्यकर्त्यांची साधारणता एक ते दीड तास चर्चा झाली आणि पट्टा पडेपर्यंतचा हिसाब करण्यात आला. पीडित महिलेकडे थकीत रक्कम नसल्याचे सिद्ध झाले व मुकादम व पीडित नातेवाईक असल्यामुळे प्रकरण समोपचाराने मिटविण्यात आले.

मुलीस घेऊन जाण्यासाठी आलेली मुलीची आई देखील आठ दिवस पेनूर येथे मुलीसोबत होती अशी माहिती समोर आली असून साखर कारखानदार कायद्याची पायमल्ली करून थकीत रक्कम आहे म्हणून पट्टा पडल्यावर देखील कामगारांना वेठीस धरून अपहृत पद्धतीने डांबून ठेवत आहेत. सदरील घटना गंभीर होती. पोलीस अधीक्षक अबीनाश कुमार यांनी वेळीच दखल घेत पीडित महिलेची ७ मे च्या रात्री उशिरा सुटका करण्यात यश आले आहे.

या कामी माकप कार्यकर्ते कॉ. गंगाधर गायकवाड, कॉ.उज्वला पडलवार, कॉ.लता गायकवाड,कॉ. करवंदा गायकवाड यांनी पुढाकार घेतला होता. तर मुलीचा शोध घेण्यासाठी गेलेल्या टीम मध्ये कॉ. गंगाधर गायकवाड, कॉ.जयराज गायकवाड, कॉ.इरवंत सूर्यकार,कॉ. मंगेश वट्टेवाड,कॉ. सुंदरबाई वाहूळकर, कॉ.बबन वाहूळकर, कॉ.साहेबराव गजभारे, पीडित मुलीची आई लताबाई वाघमारे आदींचा समावेश होता.


रात्री उशिरा पीडितेला सुखरूप घरी आणल्याने पीडित व आई लताबाई वाघमारे तसेच माकप कार्यकर्त्यांनी पोलीस अधीक्षक अबीनाश कुमार आणि शोध मोहिमेत सहभागी असलेल्या पोलीस कर्मचाऱ्यांचे आभार व्यक्त केले.

जव्हार येथे माकप व किसान सभेच्या नेतृत्वाखाली ५ हजार शेतकऱ्यांचा मोर्चा

८ मे २०२६ रोजी जव्हार येथे ५,००० शेतकऱ्यांचा भव्य मोर्चा उपविभागीय अधिकारी (एसडीओ) कार्यालयावर धडकला आणि जमीन विषयक हजारो दावे सादर करण्यात आले. माकप व किसान सभेच्या नेतृत्वाखाली झालेल्या या मोर्चात पालघर जिल्ह्यातील जव्हार आणि मोखाडा या दोन तालुक्यांतील शेतकरी सहभागी झाले होते. यामध्ये मोठ्या संख्येने महिला आणि युवकांचा सहभाग होता. सीटू, जमसं, डीवायएफआय, एसएफआय आणि आर्म या संघटनांनीही या मोर्चासाठी व्यापक प्रमाणात लोक उतरवले होते.

पाणी, सिंचन, वीज, रोजगार, शिक्षण, रेशन, रस्ते आदी जनतेच्या अनेक ज्वलंत स्थानिक प्रश्नांवर नेत्यांनी आवाज उठवला. उपविभागीय अधिकाऱ्यांनी ठोस व कालबद्ध आश्वासने दिली.

या मोर्चाचे नेतृत्व माकप केंद्रीय समिती सदस्य आमदार विनोद निकोले, राज्य सचिवमंडळ सदस्य किरण गहला, राज्य कमिटी सदस्य लहानी दौडा, जिल्हा कमिटी सदस्य यशवंत बुधर, यशवंत घाटाळ, रमेश बीज, अशोक काकवा आणि इतर नेत्यांनी केले.
