This week join me for a new installment of SURROUNDED BY SHORTBOXES as we take a look at one of my absolute favorites of the season - a KING IN BLACK tie-in that's really a CHRISTMAS CLASSIC in disguise!
In this one-shot from Christopher Cantwell and Salvador Larocca, Iron Man and Dr. Doom take on a Santa Claus that's been overtaken by a symbiote! He and his Knullified "paindeer" tear across the skies of NYC as the Lord of Abyss and his ancient darkness cast a shadow on even the holiest of our holidays - Christmas!
Can our two armored geniuses work together to break the King In Black's hold upon Symbiote Santa without killing his human host? Can our heroes gift both us (and themselves) hope during what feels like a hopeless holiday?
