Hi Everyone,

Since sharing about Duchess, a few of you have reached out asking if you could send gifts to Tom and me. We are so deeply touched by that thought and your love and support mean more than we can put into words.

If anyone feels moved to do something in Duchess’s memory, we would ask that instead of sending us gifts, you consider donating to the Humane Society of the North Bay — the shelter where we adopted her.

When we adopted Duchess, they actually waived her adoption fees because Tom had donated his time as a plumber to help them with some work. It feels meaningful to us to give back to the place that brought her into our lives.

They have wishlists available through Amazon and Chewy, as well as a donation page on their website if you’d prefer to contribute that way. I have added the links to all three below.

There is absolutely no expectation — your kind messages and love have already meant so much to us. But if you were hoping to do something, supporting them would be the most beautiful way to honor Duchess and all the love she gave to us.

Hi everyone,

I’m heartbroken to share that we had to say goodbye to Duchess today.

I ended this morning's stream abruptly and told you she wasn’t feeling well and that we were heading to the vet. Once we got there, her doctor could barely hear her heartbeat. We were told it was caused by fluid around her heart, and the underlying cause was most likely cancer.

In a matter of moments, we had to make the most painful decision to let her cross the rainbow bridge peacefully.

Duchess has been such a special part of this community. So many of you spent countless hours with her quietly snoozing on camera, keeping us company during streams. She brought such a calm, comforting presence that made everything feel a little softer and a little warmer. Our streams are going to feel a bit lonely without her.

I know she meant so much to many of you, and I want you to know how much that means to me. Thank you for loving her the way you did.

My heart is broken, and I’m going to take a few days away from streaming to grieve.

Thank you for being such a loving community — for Duchess, and for us.

Hi everyone. I'm going to postpone today's Starsand Island stream until tomorrow. Duchess seems to have an upset tummy this morning so I want to be able to keep a close eye on her. This has happened before, usually because she nibbled on something in the backyard that she shouldn't have, so I'm sure she'll be feeling better very soon.
