Laylat el-Berat,, also known as Shab-e-Barat, Kandili Berat, or Nifs-u Shaban, is a night of spiritual reflection and worship that is a time for forgiveness and renewal. It is celebrated on the 15th of Shaban, the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. The name translates to "Night of Forgiveness". According to the blessed teachings of the Naksibendi Sheykhs, Allah SWT grants mercy and forgiveness to those who repent for their sins on this night; it is also known as “the night of Destiny” in which Allah SWT determines the qadr for every person for the coming year.
“The Great Night of Laylatul Baraat is coming soon. That is the night that the Pen may change how it is writing. Change your life, change your attitude, change your heart, so that the Pen may write Association with the Beloved Ones of Allah for you.”-Sheykh Lokman Efendi Hz.

We are entering Laylatul Beraat, the Night of Forgiveness, the Night of Destiny. We are sharing some recommended ibadets for this Holy Night taken from traditional Ottoman sources. (Part 1)

SahibulSaif Sheykh Abdul Kerim al-Kibrisi (KS), taught us that this is not a night to waste. Run to ask for forgiveness. Run to ask for mercy. Run to fix the zulm we have done to ourselves and to others. This is the night when the gates of Paradise are open, and the angels are calling. If we want a clean Beraat, then we must make our Sheykh pleased with us, and through him, our Lord will be pleased with us.

May Allah forgive us, may He accept us, and may He write us among the ones who will be saved. Amin.

We are entering the holy month of Shaban, the month of the Holy Prophet (AS). Rajab is the month of Allah, Shaban is the month of Rasulullah (AS), and Ramazan is the month of the Ummah. This is a month to increase our love and connection to the Habibullah, to walk in his way, to prepare ourselves for the blessings of Ramazan.

Our Sheykh teaches that those who honor Shaban will be honored in Ramazan. This is a time to increase our salawat, to cleanse our hearts, to seek forgiveness, and to step closer to Allah and His Prophet (AS).

Take these days seriously. Follow the way of the Friends of Allah. Perform the prayers and zikr that have been preserved through the centuries from our Ottoman grandfathers—these are the treasures that will bring us ease in this life and the next.

These are the recommended prayers for the month of Shaban. May Allah accept our efforts and prepare us for the mercy of Ramazan. Amin.

🤲 The Profound Dua of Hz. Wali Abbas: A Mirror to Our Hearts
This dua is a powerful reminder of our spiritual accountability. Split into two profound parts, it first addresses our relationship with Allah (SWT), acknowledging the rights we've taken from Him, and then turns to our dealings with His creation.
Through these blessed words, we recognize our constant need for forgiveness – for the promises we've broken, the favors we've misused, and the ways we've fallen short. But what makes this dua particularly special is how it confronts us with our own tyranny.
It forces us to look deep within ourselves. How often have we unknowingly become zalims (tyrants) by taking the rights of others? How many times have we justified hurting others, thinking we had the right?
Swipe to read this powerful dua in Arabic (or its transliteration) and English Translation. Let these words be a mirror to your heart and a means of seeking Allah's infinite mercy.
The path to fighting our ego isn't through self-help books or motivational speeches – it's through the guidance of our blessed Shaykhs who guide the way.
