South Carolina TransPlant

Hello...

First and foremost, thanks for watching my videos!

I created this channel from a suggestion another creator made to journal and chronicle their gardening journey. We moved to South Carolina from New York 9 years ago (hence the handle, South Carolina TransPlant).

Since moving to South Carolina (Zone 7b), I've discovered there are some similar yet dissimilar differences in gardening.

In my videos I contrast and compare topics like climate, soil, planting methods, and more! I also discuss how I tend to gravitate towards plants that are more common in the south. I love that they provide a new planting experience; as I've never had the chance to include them in my gardens in the past.

Thanks for "tuning in" to my channel! I look forward to your comments as you take this journey along with me!

This year I'm trying my hand at winter sowing English Lavender, Nemesia, Cineraria and Canterbury Bells! Have you winter-sown or grown any of these from seed? If so, what advice can you give me? Thanks!!!

"And then there were 2!" I planted 10 of these from seeds, February 2024. I was left with 4. I added soil to their existing pots. 2 Died from transplant shock, so I'm down to 2. I hope to get them planted in my extended side berm garden soon!

I need some advice on Lavender care! I planted these Lavender from seed last February. They are really slow growers! They DON'T appear near ready to plant in the ground.

What should I do with them if they remain this small by our first frost?

TIA!!!

My limelight hydrangea bloomed today! I wasn't expecting blooms this year because I cut them back all the way (due to powdery mildew) last summer. Which one of your plants surprised you so far this season?

Just thought I'd spread some knowledge about the correct way to mulch around your trees. Enjoy!
