Some of you may have noticed that a few of our videos have disappeared, and more will be removed soon.

As we mentioned earlier, the channel is currently demonetized, and by the end of April we’ll be able to apply for monetization again. In the meantime, we’ve been introducing a new file format (and continuing to experiment. More improvements and effects are coming soon).

At the same time, we don’t want these changes to get lost in the sea of content we’ve built over the past 3 years. So, we’ve decided to remove part of our older library to better highlight the newer uploads.

This mainly affects content that was later re-released as compilations. For example, all individual Conan stories will be gradually removed, instead, please refer to Conan the Barbarian: The Ultimate Collection, where everything is available in one place.

If an audiobook you were looking for has disappeared and you can’t find it, don’t worry. All of them are still available on our Patreon:

Following your suggestions, we made another attempt to reach YouTube support on X. After many tries, we finally received a response, unfortunately, we were told that all decisions are made by an internal team and are not reversible.

This means that our YouTube channel, which for years was our main platform no longer generates any income at all. Because of this, we are gradually shifting our focus to other platforms, where audiobooks are more welcome and better supported.

It’s been a while since our last upload - and unfortunately, there’s a reason for that.
At the end of January, our channel was demonetized. For the past three years, we’ve been creating and sharing free audiobooks - bringing classic literature, fantasy, horror, and adventure to everyone who loves stories. We kept the channel running thanks to ad revenue through the YouTube Partner Program.

Now, overnight, we’ve not only lost our main source of income, but YouTube also withheld our January payment, which completely breaks our business model and financial stability. We tried to appeal the decision, but our efforts were rejected.
According to YouTube, audiobooks fall under “content that exclusively features readings of other materials”, which under the new guidelines makes us ineligible for monetization.

But this is not the end of Gates of Imagination.
We still have few audiobooks already recorded - including the next book in the Barsoom series: The Chessmen of Mars and the gothic short story “Mrs Amworth” by E. F. Benson. These and more will be released exclusively on our Patreon in the near future.
