Sooooo this happened two years ago... 🥰😱

If you're friends and family then you probably know already, but we got married in secret on November 8th 2020, we were 'stuck' in New Zealand and covid was making travelling impossible, we decided the best way to stick together was if we were married. 🤪💜

So after meeting a newly established celebrant during a game of volleyball who was interested in doing the marriage for free, we decided to do it within a weeks notice!! 🤣 We found a spot on a beach, grabbed some free 🎈, a cheese 🍰 and a few friends and luckily it was super sunny!! We even ended the day with a swim in the ocean 😋

We couldn't invite any friends or family from back home so we decided instead of telling them over a video call, we would keep it a secret until we could tell everyone in person!! ☺️ That ended up being 1 year until we were back in the UK and telling Taran's parents, and 2 years until we were in Japan telling Makoto's parents!! 😱

And to finish it all off, Taran's Japan visa extension got approved on our anniversary 🎉😁
