Can this collaboration help me find ancient objects lost to the soil? We’ve got a number of challenges here - not least that I can’t tell the remote viewer exactly what I’m looking for! The painting I made in this video from Thames mud is in the post on its way to Nicola. But ….I still have some mud, and I will gladly make another similar painting to give away to one of YOU. If the vid gets to 20k views I’ll get my paintbrushes out!
I’ve been asked when am i going back? The answer is asap. The train is £70 for a day return so I have to ration my London visits!

VERY EXCITING NEWS!!!! I applied for a Thames mudlarking permit .. and I got one! There’s a new video charting my very first expedition, guided by professional mudlark Nicola White. Wow - how lucky am I!? I can’t wait to share this adventure as I make my way into central London to see what historical objects I can find along the foreshore … an amazing experience… what a day we had!

SUMMER. It’s not the detectorist’s favourite time of year. Crops are in. The ground is rock solid and bone dry. Signals are few. The work is hot and itchy with the added pest-control mad fly swatting and swearing adding time and inefficiency. I’ve instead booked some travel adventures. I’m going to help out on a Romano British archaeological site, and I’m going to try mudlarking on the Thames in London with my newly granted permit. So YES there will be videos… just not yet. Till then I have curated a playlist for you of my favourite ever finds videos, please do watch and enjoy!
