The Door

God wants you to trust him. He wants you to be a kindred spirit with whom he can share everything, someone he can trust with his heart and his reputation. In a good faith relationship there is no reserve, no doubt, no suspicion or criticismโ€”just good will and complete openness. Maybe that is one of the reasons God uses the marriage relationship to illustrate his relationship to the church.

God wants us to trust that he loves us above and beyond all things. And when bad things happen, like they did in the life of Job, we will give God the benefit of the doubt, believing โ€œthat all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purposeโ€ (๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐Ÿด:๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿด).

We donโ€™t get bitter at lifeโ€™s circumstance, depressed, or lose confidence in his loving care because we can trust that HE loves us and seeks our best. He is our closest friend.

God created us for the express purpose of becoming family (๐—˜๐—ฝ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐Ÿญ). He desires communion, a relationship of oneness. Jesus prayed that โ€œthey may be one, even as we are oneโ€ (๐—๐—ผ๐—ต๐—ป ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿณ:๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฎ). So this oneness is what Jesus came to establish. It is not just to cause us to stop sinning. So much of religion is focused on just trying to keep the law, or do good things, or keep the Sabbath, tithe, go to church, confess your sins, or read your Bible. Thatโ€™s pitiful religion. It is all shallow compared to cultivating a faith relationship with the Heavenly Father. What God is looking for is a relationship of faith. He wants you to come to a place like Job did when he heard that all his earthly treasures were stolen or destroyed leaving him suddenly with nothing, and yes, even when his entire family was killed: he fell on his face and worshipped God. Job knew God loved and cared for him. That faith relationship he shared with God was the most precious thing in his lifeโ€”above his wealth, health, wife, and children. Job knew he had a friend in God, that God had good will toward him, and that he had a purpose even when it was not apparent and seemed to contradict the circumstances. That is what a faith relationship looks like. Expect the best from God. Expect the best from your spouse. Be the best friend to God and everyone else, and you will be a rich person indeed.

The Door

Due to recent power outages due to storms, our servers are down at No Greater Joy. That being said, Mike's latest video 'Who is the Beast of Revelation' will be uploaded at a later time.

As soon as our power is back up, the video will go live.

We apologize for the delay.

But while we are waiting, do you think the description of the Beast is symbolic, or describing a literal person? What reasons from scripture lead you to that decision?

Iโ€™m gonna be real with you guysโ€ฆI have struggled with this post and rewritten it several times over as I worked through how Iโ€™m going to communicate the right way to you.

Eventuallyโ€ฆI decided Iโ€™m just going to be as plain as possible:

After much prayer and consideration, we believe that God is leading us to return to Papua New Guinea this year. During our last visit, 51 people got saved after just a week of evangelizing. We know that Papua New Guinea is a very fruitful mission field. Following our trip last year, the lost souls in PNG have been very heavy on our hearts. We have been praying and considering how we were going to effectively reach them by partnering with the faithful saints in Papua New Guinea.

We truly feel God leading us to this ministry, and we want to return to PNG later this year to engage in a large-scale outreachโ€ฆbut we donโ€™t have the funds or the resources to do it alone.

For this outreach, we need to raise $65,000.

Here is our outline explaining the as of right now, which we covered in detail in our latest magazine issue:

โ€œAfter the youth rally, we had a pastorโ€™s conference so that I could answer biblical questions. It was a sweet time of prayer and vision casting for future ministry opportunitiesโ€ฆI asked them how they believed we could work together in a way that we would strengthen our respective ministries in the work of the gospel. After much discussion, we determined that if God is willing, the next work we would engage in together would be an outreach in the coastal town of Madang. They do not have an official church plant there, but they do have a small group of believers that meet together and would like to start a church. That small group of believers has secured a piece of property in town that they would like to use for outreach and, eventually, build their church on it.

This next part is where I would like you guys to get involved:

I would like to buy a large circus tent that will seat around 400 people and ship it to Madang, where we will put it up for our first church meeting. I would like to purchase sound equipment, lighting, and printed materials in preparation for that outreach.

Once all of these pieces are in place, I want to put together a team of young people and families that would go to the field with me and serve in this outreach. We would split the team up, with half of them venturing into the mountains for a weeklong circuit of the churches in the Simbai region. The other half of the team would stay in town, where we would set up the tent, assemble the stage, and preach in the marketplace. The town team would spend time inviting the crowds to attend our meetings the following week.

At the end of the second week, we would have a baptism and see the planting of the local church. All of the equipment would be packed up and stored so that this could be repeated annually or biannually in other areas around PNG.

We would need to raise around $65,000 to purchase equipment, literature, do our shipping, rent a house, rent a van, and cover the locals travel expenses. Aside from that, anyone who is interested in going on this next trip would need to raise their own money for expenses incurred, just like my kids did on the last trip.

If you would like to be a part of this ministry financially, we are going to have a fund set aside, and when we reach the financial goals, we will begin planning the dates.

I wonโ€™t begin putting a team together until we are able to plan the date for the trip.โ€

As of right now, we are hoping to return to PNG around late summer to early fall.
As we stated in this article, we canโ€™t go if we are unable to raise the $65,000.

If you have anything extra and you feel God is leading you to donate to this ministry, ANY amount will make an eternal difference! In the meantime, we will continue to plan for our next trip and pray that God will lay the groundwork in Papua New Guinea.

We have made a donation page specifically for PNG, which I will post the link to in the comments. Please donโ€™t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions; I will notify yโ€™all here as soon as I hear weโ€™ve reached the required amount!

Thank you so much!!
