Happy New Year, garden friends! I know it's been awhile, and you can read more about what's been going on below, but...
TLDR: I WILL be making more garden videos in 2023. Less often, but I promise I have much more to share.

The deets: So the biggest reason for my hiatus is that I started a new full-time job in early summer 2022. I haven't had full-time employment since before I started the channel! For the last few years, I've gotten by with contract work, rideshare driving and meager YouTube income. It became too much of a struggle last year so I had to find better financial stability. Now I have that, and it means I have more resources for video production/backyard projects but also less free time for those things.
In addition, during the summer and fall of 2022, we had a major city construction project right behind our house that even took over part of our property. Even when I had free time on the weekends, it was impossible to shoot a video with a dozen Monster Energy-fueled contractors digging up the sewer system 30 feet away. We finally have our yard back and a brand-new chain-link fence courtesy of the city. Now we have a partially clean slate to create the backyard habitat we really want (and Nature needs).
Admittedly, I have also been using more of my free time to make videos for my other channel, Some Room to Drum. Drumming is my true passion, really, and it's a bit easier to make drum videos in the climate- and noise-controlled safety of our basement.
But I do still love being outside, hearing the birds and swatting mosquitos as I harvest delicious nutrients right from our backyard, so I won't stop doing that (or making videos about it) anytime soon. Some Room to Grow is almost up to 10K subscribers (thank you!) so we definitely need to keep this thing going.

Hey garden friends! Since a few of you have asked for it, I’m making an update video about the hügelkultur beds. I had planned to publish that this Sunday, but my lapel microphone just died on me.
