GINGER TIP for Dec 6. How to blend a background and avoid "HOLES".
1. Ok first. start with a burnt umber dark background dry.
2. Then do a second coat, using the same color and perhaps cad red medium and ultramarine blue or purple.
3. Keep the brush MOVING ALWAYS MOVING and blend EDGES of paint color, not center. You created a hole which is almost impossible to fix, like a wheel spinning on mud.
4. So then the trick is put paint on your brush, wipe it off with a rag and always work and blend the edges. Yellow will not brighten up but cad red will.
5. Work from your shoulders, not your wrist making small circles that overlap.
