There's a GSA field trip coming up this March to Connecticut's "Jurassic Park" (Dinosaur State Park), and I have the chance to interview the field trip leaders.
So, please COMMENT below all your questions related to this 'Jurassic' field trip, what may be involved, what participants might get to learn and experience, etc.
I hope this interview will provide enough context around this upcoming field trip that some of you may sign up and travel back to the 'Jurassic'!
In the meantime, you can read more about the trip here: www.geosociety.org/GSA/Sections/ne/2026mtg/fieldtr…
Thank you! <3

Did you know trees may have caused a mass extinction when they evolved? 🌴 Don't miss today's video about a new study's findings on how trees may have contributed to the Late Devonian Mass Extinction! -> https://youtu.be/maaBFO0iLes

Check out today's new video on what it's like to be a Submarine Volcanologist (yes, somebody who studies underwater volcanoes for a living!) -> https://youtu.be/iV6rcDwKSAI
Adam sent me some AMAZING images and videos from his time in this career (clips from Alvin and other submersibles and beautiful images and videos of hydrothermal vents, pillow basalt, and huge blocks pumice!). So I highly recommend you watch (rather than just listen) ;)

There's a fossil hunting GSA field trip coming up this March, called "Discovering a Cretaceous Lagerstätte: Fossil Field Trip to Coon Creek Tennessee", and I have the chance to interview the field trip leaders, Drs. Neil Kelley and Michael Gibson, next week!
So, please COMMENT below all your questions related to this fossil hunting field trip, what may be involved, what participants might find, and just fossils and fossil hunting in general.
I hope this interview will provide enough context around this upcoming field trip that some of you may sign up and find some fossils of your own!
Incredibly, Dr. Michael Gibson has agreed to go out to the field site and do the interview from there to provide more context, examples, and visuals! This is the first time I'll be trying this kind of 'hybrid' interview so we'll see if we can get it to work, but fingers crossed ;)
In the meantime, you can read more about the trip here: www.geosociety.org/GSA/Sections/se/2026mtg/fieldtr…
And don't forget to comment your questions below! Thank you <3

Thank you all so much for being patient with me as I have had quite a gap between interviews on the Work For Earth podcast. Things have been slow with the holiday season and start of the new year, but we are now back and I'm SO excited to have on some AMAZING guests this year!
One of which is an Economic Geologist. So, please COMMENT BELOW any and all questions you have about a career as an economic geologist!
For context, economic geology is the study and evaluation of mineral resources to assess their economic viability, focusing on exploration, extraction, and processing of metals, minerals, and fossil fuels. Some may just boil it down to 'mining' but there are so many different types of mining and mineral extraction operations.
So, ask all your economic geology, mining, and mineral resource questions below and I will throw them at our guest and see what we get. ;)
Thank you! :D
