Check out today's video about the Grand Tetons & what makes them so unique (and pointy) ;) https://youtu.be/pivXm1XJiSk?si=Rzedn...

And be sure to stay til the end of the video to see a beautiful brown bear we spotted in Jenny Lake! :D

It's finally here! I just posted the 'What we still DON'T know about the KPg Mass Extinction that wiped out the non-avian dinosaurs' video: https://youtu.be/noB6aJHAyYI (which is a follow up to my earlier 'What we know so far' video: https://youtu.be/GTyhl4rWsTY )

The concepts presented in these videos are ones I learned during a GSA Field Trip with KPg researchers and I've put tons of links to their recent work as well as other upcoming GSA field trips in the description box of both videos!

Hope you enjoy! ;D

Remember, about a year ago, when I collaborated with the amazing Chris & Jesse of the PlanetGeo podcast? Well we FINALLY got around to answering all your follow up questions about how we determine the age of meteorites despite the alteration during impact, the age of Earth, if there’s stuff older than Earth and our solar system, how and when plate tectonics began on Earth, how pre-plate tectonic Earth might have operated, and how & when the first continental crust vs oceanic crust formed on Earth in today's video: https://youtu.be/ag8vaHd3Mik

Check it out, and let Jesse and I know if you like these deep dives Q&A videos because we are thinking of doing more, if you guys keep asking questions! ;)

Go check out my latest video on Enchanted Rock in TX! This granite dome has made it's way up to Earth's surface THREE separate times in Earth's history and records the history of multiple ancient supercontinents, it is one of the coolest places I've ever been! https://youtu.be/PrO3TB6Ih_I

The Geological Society of America's Spring 2026 Field Trips are available now! You can browse & register for these Field Trips here: store.geosociety.org/collections/field-trips ⛏️🧗

Here's some pictures from the GSA field trips I've been on. I've had so much fun on these trips! I highly recommend (whether you're a geologist or not!) ;D

Ever wonder why Yellowstone's hot springs are so colorful? It's the incredible microbes that live in them! 🦠 And turns out, these microbes give us insight into how life got started on Earth (and maybe even on other planets and moons)! ;D

Ever seen a rock inside another rock? 🪨

In today's video, I take you behind the scenes of a recent Geological Society of America field trip to "Xenolith City" near Kingsland, TX to explore these billion-year-old time capsules and what they tell us about Earth's past! 🌎

Check it out! -> https://youtu.be/V2M55ft3ulw

We've talked about the Largest Mountains on Earth AND throughout Earth's 4.5 Billion Year History, but what about the Largest Mountains in Our Solar System?! 🪐☄️⛰️

In today's video: https://youtu.be/3jFwyr1dMrc I go through some of the largest (both highest and longest mountain ranges in our solar system!)

I was shocked that some of the contenders were on tiny bodies I never would've expected! ;D

Hope you enjoy!

Just posted perhaps my most aesthetically pleasing video ever! https://youtu.be/AR2nxSzJnIs

This video is about the incredible geology of Garibaldi Park in British Columbia! I got to visit Vancouver earlier this year as I gave a couple talks at the University of British Columbia, and while I was up there I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to go on this BEAUTIFUL hike to Garibaldi Lake! My legs were a bit tired during my talks, but it was certainly worth it! ;D

If you plan to do this hike, I recommend you wear really comfortable shoes, and do not underestimate the downhill part haha! I didn't think the 9 km uphill was that bad, but the 9 km back down killed my feet lol. I would wear tennis shoes instead of boots if I were to do it again 😂

Check out my new collab video with ‪@geosociety‬ about DINOSAURS! https://youtu.be/GTyhl4rWsTY This video presents brand NEW (2026) research that has changed the way we think about the KPg impact that wiped out the non-avian dinosaurs!

This is some of the COOLEST research I've heard about in a long time, and this is the first of FOUR videos I'll be putting out about it! ;D
