**Count Dracula**
The historical prototype of Count Dracula is Vlad III Țepeș, a 15th-century Voivode of Wallachia, known as a cruel yet effective ruler and a defender of Europe against Ottoman expansion.

Dracula's cruelty is a controversial topic. In those times, human rights were an unknown concept 🙂 Harsh treatment of enemies was considered natural.

The exact activities of the **Order of the Dragon**, of which Dracula was a member, remain unclear. The dragon encircled in the design is the emblem of the Order.

The theme of vampirism in myth is a widespread phenomenon. Humanity has always dreamed of eternal life and eternal love. As it turns out, the connection between eternal life and human blood isn’t such a big misconception. Today, research into rejuvenation using stem cells and genetic engineering to fight hereditary diseases is ongoing (currently in the final stage — clinical trials on humans).
So, our ancestors were searching for the source of eternal life in the right direction.

There is nothing bloodthirsty in this design. It's a romantic take on the theme — about eternal life and eternal love.

In the wave of thinking how many projects I can finish this year I checked the stitches I have left on my top priority projects.

It is almost middle of the year and there are some time to make some stitching dreams come true… or at least dream about it 🤣

So, let’s see how it goes and stitch it together, but for now o have these 5 leaders:

1. Cute Owl - 30k half stitches left (52.2% done)
2. Castle in the Sky - 62k half stitches left (86.5% done)
3. Little Girl - 73k cross stitches left (69.9% done)
4. Old Boat - 82k half stitches left (53.9% done). This one is my “travel” project. But sometimes I feel that it is too great to stitch it only twice a year… love it so much…. 🤔
5. Scholar in the Library - 82k cross stitches left (60.5% done).

Oh-oh… How many stitches should I make in a day to have all of them done before this year turn to a new one? 🫣
