WILDE stands for Wilderness Integrated Leadership Development and Education. It is a philosophy born out of a core belief that the greatest learning is found in real life experiences. WILD School is focused on teaching the individual and to foster "the changemaker." We integrate and go beyond provincial curriculum to develop a program that inspires and ignites curiosity and growth.
Our core program is focused on a four main educational streams and integrating core disciplines within that. We call it OE4: Ecological Education, Outdoor Education, Experiential Education and Leadership Education. We integrate these streams with the basic core competencies (e.g. Math, Writing, Science, etc.). By doing so, our students are more engaged and more aware of the social and physical world around them. Our students retain more information, are more creative and dynamic thinkers and are passionate about learning.

WILDE School Blue Mountains
See our latest video from our Annual Skogen Loper!
Skogen = forest. Loper = runner.
Put them together and you get the spirit of our school: kids moving, building, exploring, and running free under the trees.🌲
This year’s Skogen Loper obstacle run was entirely designed by the students — and cheered on by all of us.
Here’s what that looked like:
Running up hills.
Rolling down them.
Getting muddy on purpose.
Laughing until it hurt.
Some raced to win.
Some ran with a big buddy.
Some started and finished as a squad. (Watch the big finish at the end!)
There was no one “right” way to Skogen Loper.
Just movement, joy, grit, and forest-fueled freedom.
And maybe that’s the point.
At WILDE, learning doesn’t come from sitting still.
It comes from falling down and getting back up again.
From figuring things out with your hands, your heart, and a whole lot of spirit.
This wasn’t just a race. It was a reminder:
Kids don’t need to be pushed harder.
They need space to run wild.
With their minds, their feet, their hearts.
🌿✨ Curious about how we learn through play, purpose, and student-led adventures like this?
