‪@annkur‬ points to the recent news: "Gujarat doctor loses Rs 19 crore in 3 months in digital arrest scam. A senior doctor in Gandhinagar was digitally arrested and defrauded of Rs 19 crore over three months by scammers impersonating officials."

And explains how this is a perfect example of authority bias: "It amazes me how this digital arrest works. Classic case of authority bias? As children we were threatened with bhoot aa jayega, police aa jayega, daaku aa jaayega, it seems, grownups forgot to give up the fear for authority."

The animation in this tweet: x.com/al_serenad/status/1941716989036331442 is an excellent illustration of "believing is seeing". It seems to us that the expression of the eyes in a photo changes when the lower part of the face is replaced (even though the eyes have remained exactly the same)
