If you’ve never been to the Balkans, let me tell you… the food alone is worth the trip! 🇲🇰🍴

We kicked things off with Pastry Heaven = Pastrmajlija – think of it like a Balkan pizza with a fluffy dough (kinda like a sfiha). Traditionally it’s topped with meat and sauce, but since my husband is vegetarian, we tried the version with feta cheese. Verdict? Absolutely delicious! 🧀✨

Then came the warm and comforting baked beans in sauce – simple but sooo flavorful – and the famous Vardar plate with meat and rich sauce. For something lighter, the zucchini fritters were crispy, golden, and addictive. 🤤

Desserts? Ohhh yes. The Trilece cake stole the show – a super moist, sweet surprise that melts in your mouth. But my absolute favorite: Gibanica. Imagine a savory mille-feuille with layers of pastry and cottage cheese… perfection. 🥰

And of course, no Balkan meal is complete without a shot of the legendary (and very strong!) Rakija 🥂 – not for the faint-hearted, but definitely part of the experience.

Extra bites you must try:
🥧 Burek – crispy filo pastry filled with cheese and spinach.
🌿 Cabbage rolls – stuffed with meat and rice, seasoned in a way that’s so unique and flavorful!
