Finished up quilting this vintage quilt top after working on it for the past couple months. Combo of machine and hand quilting along with some repairs. She’s going home tomorrow and the studio already feels empty without all her glorious color.

I'm taking a hiatus to tend to my garden (April is non-stop for a gardener) and I'll be back this Sunday to share with you how I'm dressing up my tablescape with coordinating cloth napkins using inexpensive but high quality dress shirts. See ya then!

Fabric Haul video delayed - we've had roofers here and let's just say it's been a wee bit too noisy for recording. That said, I'll likely have the video out Weds evening. I haven't yet opened the package (from Sewing Studio) and it's driving me crazy, haha. Still planning to do the unboxing with you guys on the video, so if you'd care to see just a little peek at one of the fabrics in the meantime (there are only 2 in this haul), here ya go! Hoping this one lives up to the photo because it looks 💯!

So...my sewing life has taken a turn very quickly - I'll explain more this coming Tuesday when I'll also have a fabric haul to share with you. In the meantime, here are a couple photos of a project that I've been contracted to do.

For any of you other quiltmakers out there, here's a tip that you may already know: take an overhead photo of your layout before stitching anything together, then look at the photo on your phone, tablet, or laptop. Gives you a chance to see any glaring issues regarding color bunching, light/dark tones distribution, pattern irregularities, etc.

Happy New Year! Hope it's off to a great start for you! In keeping with my annual tradition since 2022, I'll be doing what I call #pants-uary again this year.
This means that my January sewing will be all pants and nothing but the pants. I've narrowed it down to 2 patterns and while I will strive to complete both, my energy will go towards the #StyleArcClare first and foremost, because how cute are these?! I want these in my life come spring.
Next, I'll work on #SimplicityS8957. If memory serves, Trish (@pinkysfarm) highly recommended this pattern a long while back. Glad I took note!

Happy Monday! Hope your week is off to a great start. I am taking a bit of a break from recording and rethinking my sewing approach for the remainder of fall and heading into winter. I'll share more this coming weekend but here's a hint: it has to do with this growing pile of garments (thrifteds, me-mades, ready-to-wear), all stuff that needs to be altered, adjusted, reworked, etc. Plus, I have a small Joann haul to share with you.
