Hey! I’m Effie. I've been living with rheumatoid arthritis for the last 19 years and am on a mission toward remission. On this channel, I spill the tea on life with arthritis and other various things I'm passionate about. Sharing my experiences and learning about other people's stories or perspectives has been extremely cathartic for me. I hope this space here can help someone feel seen, heard, and validated.

Got arthritis? Know someone with arthritis? Are you in the medical field or want to learn about arthritis? Then you're in the right place, so follow along by hitting the subscribe button to join me on this healing journey! ✰

NEW VIDEO! I'm joined by Aisley and Nicole, the mother-daughter duo who created the Mindflight Journal, after being inspired by their own experiences living with chronic illness. They also personalize all their packages by illustrating something for each person who purchases one. I had no idea they would reference this photo from my Instagram. Totally made my day! 🌞💕 Let us know your thoughts about journaling and if it helps you. Have a great weekend, sending you all lots of love and light! ✨

GRAB YOUR OWN COPY → with discount code: RISERA for 10% off {specifically created for my viewers 🥰}. All the links of where you can find the journal can be found in the description box of the video.

RA and Myself

Hi everyone! I have a new video coming out tomorrow that I’ll post about here. In the meantime, I wanted to share an update and information about the book project I’m working on that is featuring stories of individuals living with arthritis and those who support them. If you’ve been following along or are a new subscriber whose interested in submitting a story, read below for answers to the most frequently asked questions by those who have already submitted. ⬇️

-If you were diagnosed with another health condition, in addition to arthritis, you can still submit a story. Some people have talked about another diagnosis they had before arthritis came into the picture, or even after the fact. Comorbidities (the simultaneous presence of two or more diseases) can occur with arthritis.

-Word counts for your story can range anywhere from 50-100 words minimum or 1,500 max. (Nothing longer than that).

-You don’t need to be a writer to submit. If you’re concerned about grammar, etc. the stories are going to be edited and proofread for all that. Your voice and message though won’t be changed. The purpose of this is to hear from those who live with arthritis first-hand and those who support them.

-Your story isn’t boring or not interesting enough. Someone out there will find value, relatability, inspiration, and encouragement from what you share.

-If you have more than one theme or topic that happens to be part of your story, that’s ok. Just choose one overarching theme when you submit through the submission form.

-Photos need to be of you or if you have permission to include someone else in the photo with you, that’s acceptable.

📧 Questions? Feel free to email me at, keepingitrealwitharthritisbook@gmail.com

The deadline is Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 at 11:59 pm et. Though we may extend it one last time for the beginning of July, which in that case it will be announced next month. Make sure you’re following me over on Instagram @risingabovera and @keepingitrealwitharthritis where I post updates too.

Thank you all for being here!!
Much appreciated. 🥰 ✨💙
