The consequences of spamming LEGO Star Wars videos for a few months ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ P.S. Watch my 'Uncharted 4' cinematic gameplay or you're gonna get coal this Christmas! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQIgs...
A lot of people are absolutely hyped about this crazy new anime game that's supposedly gonna be better than GTA 6. I'm talking about 'ANANTA' - a Chinese game that just wowed the internet with a crazy trailer and "gameplay showcase" a couple days ago (You can watch it here for context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMzzX...). Everyone seems to be impressed, even big content creators and major gaming sites. And I'm sitting here in disbelief. This game is almost certainly A SCAM! Here are just a few red flags:
• The game is extremely ambitious and yet it's being developed by an obscure Chinese studio that hasn't made any other video games before. It's called Naked Rain. It's so obscure I can't even find their official page or a reliable information on how many people they hire. This alone seems incredibly suspicious. What are the chances that some random Chinese studio will deliver a huge open-world game with dozens of different gameplay mechanics and features? Slim I'd say.
• In the footage they showed you can clearly see that the "game" uses A LOT of features, mechanics, ideas and even entire animations that are completely RIPPED from a bunch of popular games. For example, character switching from 'GTA V', web swinging animations from 'Marvel's Spider-Man', melee combat animations ripped from 'Sleeping Dogs', hacking features ripped from 'Watch Dogs' or this action scene where the MC is being dragged behind a truck, which is clearly ripped from the Madagascar convoy chase in Uncharted 4. Remember how 'The Day Before' showcased impressive "gameplay" that looked like a mix of 'The Last Of Us' & 'The Division'? Or how the trailers and posters directly ripped off other games? 'Ananta' situation looks very similar in my opinion. The creators clearly want to wow us with obvious references to hugely popular games in order to create hype and amass a following. There's no way that all the features shown in this video will be in the actual game. Or that such blatant plagiarism is even legal in the first place. Given the fact that Naked Rain is a Chinese studio, and China is known for its copyright infringement abuses, I think it's quite possible that 'Ananta' is just a scam game that uses other studios' assets in order to save time and create hugely impressive demos. And even if the studio gets sued for copyright infringement, probably nothing will happen because the Chinese government doesn't really care when Chinese companies rip off Western ones.
• The devs claim this game is going to be FREE TO PLAY. Even if we took the trailer at face value and believed that the game is real and every feature is actually in it, this would mean that 'Ananta' was extremely expensive to make. Huge open-world games take YEARS and at least hundreds of employees to create. There's no way some random Chinese studio no one ever heard about has enough money and developers to create such a game. And it certainly isn't realistic to expect that such an expensive game would be free to play. It's like believing that GTA 6 is gonna be free to play. Completely unrealistic.
• The marketing materials claim that 'Ananta' is coming to PC, PS5 & mobile devices (Android & iOS). I can believe that a game that looks like this could run on PC or PS5 but it's completely unrealistic to expect it to be a mobile game at the same time. It smells like complete BS. Modern smartphones are not even capable of running Uncharted 4 - a 2016 PS4-era linear level-based game. There's no way they could run a huge open-world game with so many cars, pedestrians, details and gameplay mechanics as shown in the trailers. So that's another red flag. Why lie? To create more hype cuz the game probably isn't real. Or it's a cheap asset flip whose final version will be nothing like the flashy trailers. Again, just remember 'The Day Before' and how it looked in the trailers vs. what we got on release.
• The official site of the game (Anantagame.com) looks extremely suspicious. The first thing you see is a huge red 'PRE-REGISTER' button (whatever that means) that asks you to sign up for some newsletter. When you scroll down, the site introduces you to some characters using bizarrely worded paragraphs. And then it ends. Curiously, the site doesn't give any other interesting details. It doesn't give you the overview of what this game even is. It doesn't tell you anything about the story and it doesn't list any gameplay details or anything of that sort. Instead, it has a huge COUNTER that supposedly shows how many people 'pre-registered' (again, whatever that means). At the time of writing this post, the counter shows 12,596,131 'pre-registrations'. I somehow doubt that. There's no way more than 12 MILLION people registered for some garbage newsletter about a scam anime game. Sorry, I mean PRE-REGISTERED 😂
tl;dr - I think 'Ananta' is almost certainly a scam just like 'The Day Before' or 'Paradise'. Unknown Chinese studio promises to deliver the ultimate open-world video game that combines features from some of the best games of the last decade, claims it's FREE TO PLAY and says it's gonna run on a mobile phone. Yeah, right... My advice is to remain skeptical and not fall for the hype. If I get proven wrong, the game turns out to be real and it releases with all the features shown in the trailer, then GREAT. But I'm like 99% sure that ain't going to happen. I predict 'Ananta' is gonna be hyped up for another year or two and then it's gonna be canceled or the devs will release some shitty 'beta' version that looks and plays NOTHING like the trailers. Mark my words, people.
So I've been spamming the LEGO Star Wars shorts & videos for a couple months now and the views are very good + I noticed I'm more focused and I'm able to create videos quicker. Maybe it's how my brain works cuz I probably have ADHD but I often lose focus and motivation when I start multiple projects at the same time. So from now on, I think I'll be less chaotic and more structured than I was in the past. Instead of jumping from one game to another and making random videos, I'll try to stick to a single game/topic for a while, create a series or a mini-series of similar videos and then move on to the next thing. That way the channel will feel more focused and I'll be more efficient.
So here's what you can expect: let me wrap up the LEGO Star Wars series (I'm like 80% done) and then we'll move on to the next thing I wanna make. I haven't decided the order yet, but here are a few things I plan for this year:
1. These 2 Assassin's Creed Games Are 16 Years Apart - an in-depth critical comparison that demonstrates how AC1 (2007) outclasses AC Mirage (2023) in pretty much every aspect. It's gonna be a really illuminating video in the style of my 'RDR1 vs Outlaws' comparison. I think it'll also be a good introduction to 'Assassin's Creed' because I want to start making more content on this series.
2. A comedy series of videos and shorts from 'High on Life'. There's gonna be a lot of banger shorts from this, I'm sure.
3. Redebut of my long-overdue series called 'LIKE IT'S E3' where I play different games in the style of rehearsed E3 demos (no HUD, cinematic camerawork & perfectly executed gameplay scenarios). I really want to go back to cinematic gaming cuz making only highly edited videos is kinda draining in the long run. And I love to play games cinematically, so it's something I wanted to do for a long time.
4. A new format called 'LORE-ACCURATE'. A series of cinematic gameplays from different games where I role-play as the protagonist in the most lore-accurate and realistic way. I think this series, along with LIKE IT'S E3, will be a great opportunity to introduce a bunch of different games to the channel to see what sticks and what doesn't. I was thinking about Uncharted 4, The Last Of Us 1 & 2, God of War, Spider-Man, Batman Arkham, Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin's Creed, Star Wars Jedi and some others. I think these two series could help me decide which game to pick for my first full Cinematic Series.
Anyway, tell me what you think about this approach. Do you like the idea of me sticking to a particular series for a while instead of jumping around different topics?
I finally decided to update my profile picture. Now the Goose is cleaner and it upgraded the old Xbox controller to a sleek red Dualsense. Hope you like the change ;)
Thanks for 160K views on the big 'RDR1 vs Outlaws' comparison! If you still haven't seen it, check it out! It's the most thorough and well edited comparison I've made so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTl7e... I'll definitely make more videos like that in the future! In the meantime, let's get this one to 250K views!
Recently, a lot of people have returned to play 'Battlefront 2'. And they quickly realized why the game died in the first place. I think that one of the main reasons why the game was struggling on PC was the abundance of cheaters who made the game nearly unplayable by breaking entire sessions. A couple years ago, I made a fun montage that shows just how bad the PC lobbies were. I think it's just as relevant now. If Battlefront 3 ever gets made, the developers need to implement a proper anti-cheat system. Otherwise, the game will die just like BF2.
I just watched episodes 7-9 of 'Andor' Season 2, and holy sh*t! This show is THE BEST version of 'Star Wars' I've ever seen, and it's not even close. We got used to 'Star Wars' shows being absolute slop like 'Obi-Wan', 'The Mandalorian' or 'Book of Boba Fett', but 'Andor' is PEAK TV DRAMA. It excels at pretty much everything. Incredible writing, beautiful realistic sets, palpable tension, powerful music, and some of the best performances you'll see in a TV show, let alone 'Star Wars'.
What I love about 'Andor' is that it feels MATURE. It's not a typical 'Star Wars' fairy tale or a wacky adventure. It's a grounded, realistic and absolutely gripping drama that shows the true evil of a totalitarian regime, the inner machinations of the corrupt system, and the hardships of rebellion. This is basically the only 'Star Wars' project where The Empire feels truly competent, intimidating and realistic. The only show where Imperial Stormtroopers can bring terror and carry out a chilling massacre of peaceful protestors, instead of being incompetent cannon fodder or comic relief. And the only show where a roar of a TIE Fighter is not just a "cool" cound effect, but an ominous reminder of The Empire's might that will send a shiver down your spine.
The Ghorman Massacre depicted in Episode 8 is the most powerful and sinister moment you'll see in 'Star Wars', and possibly the single best episode of any 'Star Wars' show. If you still haven't seen 'Andor' or are on the fence because you got burned by previous Disney shows, I implore you to give it a chance. 'Andor' is absolute cinema, and the more people watch it and appreciate it, the higher the chance we will get more quality 'Star Wars' shows like this in the future. I say this as a life-long 'Star Wars' fan. If this franchise could consistently produce content of this quality, it would be a dream come true.
tl:dr - 'Andor' is PEAK STAR WARS. 10/10. Go watch it!
