Performing in New York City at the Continental Divide in the Summer of 1994 on the ill fated, extremely crazy, drug & alcohol fueled BLOODY MESS AND THE SKABS "Hungover & Stoned" U.S. tour.
We played earlier that same night too, at The Scrap Bar!
After 8 tumultuous & memorable years, the band broke up on this tour, in the middle of a show in Wilmington Deleware 👀

Both Bloody Mess and the Skabs albums can be heard on YouTube ("6th Grade Field Trip" 1990 and "Hungover and Stoned" 1994. The Hungover album is my personal favorite of the two)

The final line up of BLOODY MESS AND THE SKABS were myself on vocals, Tom McWethy aka Doubting Thomas on Guitar, Ty Brown on Bass & Gabby Skab on Drums.

We went thru ALOT of line up changes in the band due to out out of control chaotic & nihilistic, drunken, partying energy & bad habits/manners. Alot of the time, our goals were to have so much "fun" that we would be banned from wherever we were playing.

It would've been less destructive to just have gotten shrinks🤣😂
Although Ive talked to a few of those over the years.

The past is gone. The future is not guaranteed. All we have is now.
I am glad ( most of the time) to be alive in 2025 and that I have tales to tell. I've really been holding back on some of the reallyyyy crazy shit that went down during those fragmented, twisted pun crock daze.
Im not always proud of some of the stuff that went down. But pain is purification & I wouldn't be the dude I am without having gone thru the stuff I have.

Good 'ol Jett dog hanging out in the record store! She's an 11 year old corgi-terrier whom we adopted from Southern Oregon Humane Society when she was only one year old! 🐶🐕
She's absolutely my favorite dog ever & she's still full of life & energy and loves to run!!
She's appeared in about half a dozen of my music videos too, and has her own small cult following 😂LONG LIVE JETT!!

One of THE coolest & symbolic photos I've ever seen, of the late, great reggae artist & revolutionary, PETER TOSH! ✊️

He was a former member of Bob Marley & the Wailers & was a talented multi-instrumentalist whose beliefs & approach to politics & the unjust treatment he received within the industry & life in general, led him to having/creating a vocal, uncompromising form of social & political activism that sought immediate justice and equal rights, particularly for the Black and oppressed global community.

As a very long time fan it was shocking & sad when he was murdered on Sept. 11th 1987.
His music & message(s) are quite alive in my home & heart🤍

REMEMBERING PETER TOSH!!! ✊️

Fierce political activist, Rastafari spiritual leader, Anti- Colonial voice, and human rights activist, who used his music as a powerful tool for social commentary, Black liberation, etc...making him a profound cultural icon and
Revolutionary.

If you are seeking a place to start...check out his first first solo album after leaving The Wailers: "LEGALIZE IT" (1976) A fantastic album! His discography is all worthy of exploring tho.
