Following this football club got me through one of the worst periods of my life, losing my grandad nearly theee years ago.
I almost didn’t go to this game, it was so soon after losing him. But with our grandad being the huge football man he was, me and my brothers all went together. I snapped this picture after THAT Jacko goal. You’d never know what we were going through just looking at it.
Footballs more than just a game.
I know a lot of you will struggle to get to Spennymoor tomorrow. But on Monday, even with “nothing to play for” in terms of promotion or relegation, I genuinely believe it’s the biggest game in our club’s history.
It’s a chance for all of us to show our support. For the club, for the volunteers who keep it going, for the local businesses who back it, and for everyone in between.
Be loud. Be proud.
