Appearance of Sura( Devata) and Asuras ( Daitya,Dano,Rakshas) in material world
Hare Krishna !
In the 8th chapter of Lesser Known Stories of Mahabharata our You Tube Video Series we shall discuss on the appearance of Demons and Demigods. Our discussion is with reference to Mahabharat, ,Shrimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita
Before going in details of the history we shall refer a few verses from Bhagavad Gita Chapter 16 – Verse 1-4
In 1-3 Lord Krishna has described the Daivi Gunas or divine qualities. They are mostly
Fearlessness, purification of one's existence, cultivation of spiritual knowledge, charity, self-control, performance of sacrifice, study of the Vedas, austerity and simplicity; nonviolence, truthfulness, freedom from anger; renunciation, tranquility, aversion to faultfinding, compassion and freedom from covetousness; gentleness, modesty and steady determination; vigor, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, freedom from envy and the passion for honor-these transcendental qualities
In 1-4 Lord Krishna Described the Demoniac nature as Arrogance, pride, anger, conceit, harshness and ignorance-these qualities belong to those of demonic nature
In chapter 13,6,2 Lord stated further that the Living Beings with Divine quality takes shelter of lord and hails him for all good thing happen to them and accept the bad things as his own Karma and thanks Lord for giving him chance to purify .But the demoniac people will think “So much wealth do I have today, and I will gain more according to my schemes. So much is mine now, and it will increase in the future, more and more.
While in Satya,Treta, and to some extent Dwapar Yug we could identify the Demons and Demigods clearly different and unique in Kali Yug ( age of Quarrel) it is not possible. We all living beings have both the type of qualities inside us and it is important for us which qualities we pamper and the same will exhibit more.
In todays episode we shall discuss how it all started and why ? Let us begin

We are in the process of releasing 2nd episode of Mahabharata series. As told in the first episode that each Parva or chapter of Mahabharata have numerous subsections or upaparva. We are starting in this episode about Adiparva.Adiparva has again 18 subparvas and we shall start with first subsections known as Anukramanika. in Anukramanika we find Sautis are narrating Mahabharata in Namisharanya. It has been described that at the advent of Kali Yug thousands of sages assembled to learn how to tackle the advancement of Kali Yuga.. and then in that assembly great stage Vaishampayan appeared . He was a disciple of Vyasdeva. Vyasdeva composed Mahabharata and Ganesh ji wrote the same. On request of sages Vaishampayan started with the Janmenjaya's Sarpa Yagna or Snake Sacrifice and then turned the time back and went to first story of Rsi Bhrgu.. the most powerful sages who went and challenged Brahma ji Shivji and Vishnuji in a test to find out who is best... I have made a episode on this when I described about the glories of Lord Balaji/
Now in Adi parva we shall read an interesting story of how Agnidev got cursed in Anukramanika
Please see the video and let me know if you like the same
Now I am uploading the last episode which I published last week

Hare Krishna!
After completing the 12 Mahajan their Life and Pastimes ,as promised in last episode now we are staring a new series on Mahabharata Lesser Known Stories. Mahabharata the greatest Epic Poem of World with more than 1L shlokas and 18 chapters is most read book even today. In our Vedic Scriptures it falls in the category of Itihas ..Itihas (history) is told to us as a demonstration of Vedic principles. Vedas, Vedanata, Purana sometime becomes difficult to comprehend and stories of past Heros and AntiHeroes help us to learn. Mostly I see Ramayan and Mahabharat have three streams inbuilt. as we see Yamuna ,Ganga and Saraswati in Prayag. While Yamuna is entertainment, Ganga is the Knowledge ,the Saraswati part is the lesson we learn, which quite often we miss. When we read Mahabharata we miss that the objective of stating the Mahabharata was to create a background so that Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Krishna can sing Gitoponishad popularly known as Bhagavad Gita to us. Srila Prabhupada compares the Cowherd boy Krishna is Milking the Cow " Vedas" and the Calf Arjuna is drinking the milk: " The knowledge & wisdom" and the commoners like us are also drinking the remnant. So Mahabharata we should see as method of knowing how to lead life in the path of unadulterated Bhakti as done by Pandavas & Draupadi
However in this episodes I shall not deal with all these philosophies.. Rather I will tell you many interesting short stories not in any specific sequence and will try to derive the lessons of Bhakti from them. I promise some of the stories are far more powerful than Harry Potter stories but we miss appreciating
Please go through the videos and all glories to Srila Prabhupada and Shrimad Bhagavatam which I have referred maximum to coin these stories.
Yours Aspiring Servant
