Austria's Hijab ban in force as under-14s go back to school
As the new school year begins in Austria, a law banning Hijabs in schools for girls under 14 has gone into force.
The law forbids "traditional Muslim" head coverings, such as Hijabs or Niqabs, in public and private schools across the country.
Integration Minister Claudia Bauer, from the conservative People's Party (ÖVP), says the Hijab is "a sign of oppression and a means of controlling girls from the earliest childhood".
Teachers are expected to enforce the new ban if they see a child wearing the Hijab by holding a series of talks with the student and their parents/guardians.
If there are repeated violations, children services must be notified and as a last resort, parents/guardians could face fines of up to €800 (£685).
⚠️ 31 Years Since The Enforced Disappearance of Sheikh Abdulwali Qori Mirzayev
Sheikh Abdulwali Qori Mirzayev was a highly influential and prominent Uzbek Islamic scholar and Imam who mysteriously disappeared in 1995. He is recognised as one of the most prominent independent Islamic figures in post-Soviet Uzbekistan.
Born on 11th April 1950 in the Oltinko‘l district of the Andijan region in the Uzbekistan. Despite Soviet restrictions on religion, he studied Islamic theology, Arabic grammar, hadith, and jurisprudence secretly alongside fellow scholars. He memorised the entire Quran in just eight months.
He became the Imam-Khatib of the central Juma Mosque in Andijan in 1989. His audio recorded lectures, Quranic exegesis, and lessons on books like Riyadus Salihin gained immense popularity across Central Asia.
He heavily influenced the revival of Islamic education in Uzbekistan during the early 1990s.
On 29th August 1995, Sheikh Abdulwali was scheduled to fly from Tashkent International Airport to Moscow to attend an Islamic conference. After entering the airport and passing through passport controls, he and his assistant vanished without a trace.
Human rights organisations and his family say he was arbitrarily detained by the Uzbek National Security Services (MXX) due to his independent stance and growing popularity outside state control.
A misleading report is circulating at the moment claiming that the occupation government has now, for the first time, officially allowed Jewish prayer inside Masjid al-Aqsa, and that this could lead to a change in the so-called “status quo”.
We must correct this!
The decision allowing Jewish prayer inside Masjid al-Aqsa was already made and openly stated in 2024. This is therefore not a new development.
What happened few days ago is something different and very serious.
For the first time, settlers were allowed to bring Jewish prayer books, known as *siddurim*, into Masjid al-Aqsa while carrying out their religious rituals.
Previously, they would carry individual sheets containing the prayers or read them from their phones. They are now being permitted to bring the prayer books themselves into Masjid al-Aqsa.
This is another dangerous step in the continuing attempt to establish Jewish worship inside Masjid al-Aqsa and impose further changes on the ground.
The concern with the way the story is currently being shared is that it gives people the impression that the existing situation had remained intact until now, and that Masjid al-Aqsa has only just entered a new period of danger.
The reality is that these developments have been taking place over a number of years.
Each new measure builds upon what has already been imposed before it. Religious rituals became more open. Prayer was increasingly tolerated and protected. Now prayer books themselves are being brought inside.
When these developments are reported without the wider context, people can easily miss the seriousness of what is actually unfolding at Masjid al-Aqsa
“And who is more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His masjids and strive towards their ruin?” – Surah al-Baqarah 2:114
What is happening at Masjid al-Aqsa requires accurate reporting and serious attention from the Ummah.
We need to keep people informed, speak about these developments clearly, maintain public awareness and support the steadfast presence of visitng Muslims and the people of Jerusalem who continue to protect Masjid al-Aqsa.
There can be no complacency when it comes to the defence of Masjid al-Aqsa.
⚠️ Muslim Man Killed Defending Woman From Islamophobic Attack
Belgium — A Muslim shopkeeper who stepped in to defend a Muslim woman from racist and Islamophobic abuse on a Brussels tram has died after being beaten so badly that he succumbed to his injuries.
Driss Atouane, who managed a supermarket in the Schaerbeek district, intervened after a man directed racist and anti-Muslim remarks at a woman aboard Tram 55 in the municipality of Evere.
According to the victim's relatives, Driss was struck from behind with a heavy object after confronting the attacker. He collapsed to the ground, where the suspect continued to kick him until several young men intervened to stop the assault.
Driss, who remained conscious after the attack, was taken to Brugmann University Hospital in Schaerbeek. His condition later deteriorated and he fell into a coma before dying on Sunday morning.
British soldiers dropped Afghan prisoners off forklifts ‘for fun'
Witnesses told the UK’s independent Afghanistan Inquiry that British special forces threw Afghan detainees from forklifts for fun.
According to the witnesses, British soldiers placed Afghan detainees on forklifts, raised them into the air and drove at speed so they would fall off for entertainment.
The inquiry also heard claims that three Afghan farmers were unlawfully killed and that attempts were made to cover up the incidents.
The inquiry, established by the UK Ministry of Defence, is examining allegations of war crimes committed by British special forces in Afghanistan between 2010 and 2013.

It's been 17 years (1st July 2009) since Marwa El-Sherbini was brutally stabbed 18 times in a German court room. The attacker was being tried for abusing her and her child in a playground because she was Muslim. As her husband leapt to her defence during the attack in the court room he too was stabbed multiple times. Unbelievably when police turned up to the court room, they shot her husband thinking he was the attacker.
Marwa was pregnant at the time when she was brutally murdered.
Alex Wiens was found guilty of the murder of Marwa El-Sherbini and the attempted murder of her husband Elwy Okaz, and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Palestinian man, Ameen Khaled Al-Ghoul, has been missing since 14 November 2023, after he attempted to move from the southern Gaza Strip to the north.
Since his disappearance, his family contacted the Red Cross and prisoner affairs organisations in an effort to determine his fate, but they were informed that he is not held in Israeli prisons.
Recently, the family was able to identify him after an image of a blindfolded detaineee tied to a wooden board was published by an Israeli soldier on social media.
The family has since appealed to international and human rights organisations, urging intervention to uncover his whereabouts and clarify his fate.

Maulana Mazhar Hussain from Bihar’s Bhagalpur was brutally attacked by Hindutva goons during a train journey while returning home from Varanasi,
Maulana Mazhar said he was targeted because of his religious identity.
The incident took place on June 27, 2026, near Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction. A group of 3 men wearing saffron scarves attacked him with stones lying along the railway tracks, leaving him with serious injuries to his head and other parts of his body.
Maulana Mazhar said the attackers made objectionable remarks about his beard and skullcap before assaulting him.

It's been 17 years (1st July 2009) since Marwa El-Sherbini was brutally stabbed 18 times in a German court room. The attacker was being tried for abusing her and her child in a playground because she was Muslim. As her husband leapt to her defence during the attack in the court room he too was stabbed multiple times. Unbelievably when police turned up to the court room, they shot her husband thinking he was the attacker.
Marwa was pregnant at the time when she was brutally murdered.
Alex Wiens was found guilty of the murder of Marwa El-Sherbini and the attempted murder of her husband Elwy Okaz, and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Als ihr Mann während des Angriffs im Gerichtssaal zu ihrer Verteidigung eilte, wurde auch er mehrmals erstochen.

⚠️ Horrifying image of Palestinian kidnapped by Israeli forces in Gaza
Palestinian man, Ameen Khaled Al-Ghoul, has been missing since 14 November 2023, after he attempted to move from the southern Gaza Strip to the north.
Since his disappearance, his family contacted the Red Cross and prisoner affairs organisations in an effort to determine his fate, but they were informed that he is not held in Israeli prisons.
Recently, the family was able to identify him after an image of a blindfolded detaineee tied to a wooden board was published by an Israeli soldier on social media.
The family has since appealed to international and human rights organisations, urging intervention to uncover his whereabouts and clarify his fate.

India: Islamic Scholar Brutally Attacked By Hindutva Mob During Train Journey
Maulana Mazhar Hussain from Bihar’s Bhagalpur was brutally attacked by Hindutva goons during a train journey while returning home from Varanasi,
Maulana Mazhar said he was targeted because of his religious identity.
The incident took place on June 27, 2026, near Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction. A group of 3 men wearing saffron scarves attacked him with stones lying along the railway tracks, leaving him with serious injuries to his head and other parts of his body.
Maulana Mazhar said the attackers made objectionable remarks about his beard and skullcap before assaulting him.
