My opinion about this album is exactly how I initially felt about the Open Mike Eagle project, Neighborhood Gods Unlimited, which was a solid but not spectacular album. Upon more listens, my appreciation for that album grew into what I think is an amazing project. I don't think I'm fully absorbing how great this album is but in due time, I believe I will truly understand how amazing this work is. As it stands, Live Laugh Love is a good project from Earl.
It feels like the best of Ohms and the feel of Around the Fur merged into one impactful, well-produced, and incredibly breezy package. The roaring guitars are killer and Abe was phenomenal with punchy and tight drumming throughout the project. While the tracks that really hit me were the more shoegaze songs like "Infinite Source" and "I Think About You All the Time", Cut Hands easily takes the cake for my favorite song of the album, tremendous stuff.
On June 10th, 1997, Jerry "The King" Lawler invades the ECW Arena with RVD, Sabu and Fonzie, who just smoked some crack before going out there! This episode is also notable for being Raven's final ECW match before going to WCW!
It will be coming to yall Friday at Noon but you can get it now on my Patreon!
It's always good to see a redemption story. It's not a great album or anything but it does have a couple of great moments on it like Letters and The Negro Problem but it has a lot of okay songs that are forgettable as soon as the next one plays. Still, it's far from his worst shit, and you gotta (re)start somewhere. This is a pretty good somewhere.
6 or 7/10.
I said to someone that the next album I was gonna listen to was gonna be Earl's newest joint but Lil Bill's community post reminded me that Deftones released an album, so I'll listen to that first and then the Sweatshirt album.
The preluxe had me worried, not gonna lie. This is amazing, what a fantastic album from front to back. JID's flows work very well with the instrumentals that a bit better than they did on the FS. The songs also feel like a bit more room to breathe. The features were dope, especially Community with Clipse where Malice kills it again. I'm not that high on What We On and Wholeheartedly tho, despite the lyricism still being strong like it was for the entirety of the album. Forever Story is still my favorite project from JID but this is a really close second.
This Friday at Noon EST, I'll be releasing my sync on The Main Event where Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan had their famous rematch on NBC in front of 33 million viewers!
A pretty good release from Freddie, I found it pretty consistent, even though it never truly grabbed me like I thought it would. Solid to great songs front to back including great features from Paak and JID. 7 or 8 out of 10 for me.
