I was fortunate enough to pass both New Zealand and Australian SAS Selection, before serving in the Australian SAS Regiment. What’s shared here isn’t motivation, recruitment messaging, or hero worship — it’s reality, shaped by lived experience.

The physical demands are real, but they’re rarely the deciding factor. The long-term costs — to identity, family, mental state, and life after service — are discussed far less honestly.
