Lofi 음악과 정통 재즈, 그 사이 어딘가의 미묘오오오한..? 지점을 찾아 매력적인 사운드로 리뉴얼해보았습니다🙂

長い間準備してきた、当チャンネルのかわいいオリジナルキャラクターを5/15(金)にリリースします!!

オリジナルキャラクター「ジャズ」ちゃんの素敵なイラストと共に(動いたりもします!!)、
音楽も当チャンネルでずっと流していたトラディショナルなジャズとはちょっと違う雰囲気で準備しました!
Lofiと正統派ジャズ、その間のどこかにある微妙ぉぉぉな..?ポイントを探して、魅力的なサウンドでリニューアルしてみました🙂

皆さんの作業時間、勉強時間がもっとgroovy..?になれるように、これからもより良いコンテンツでお届けしていきます:)

After a long preparation, we're finally releasing our channel's kawaii original character on Friday, May 15th!!

Along with a wonderful illustration of our original character "Jazz" (and yes, she even moves!!),
the music itself also has a quite different vibe from the traditional jazz we've been featuring on the channel!
We searched for that suuubtle..? spot somewhere between Lofi and authentic jazz, and renewed the tracks with a truly charming sound🙂

We'll keep bringing you even better content so your work time and study time can get more groovy..?:)

얼핏 눈치채신 분들도 계셨겠지만..!! 사쉴... 새로운 채널을 오픈한 지 대략 3달 정도가 되었습니다.
채널을 만든 지는 꽤 되었지만, 이제야 두 채널의 방향성이 제 마음속에 확실하게 자리 잡게 되어 이렇게 정식으로 소식을 전해드려요:)

이렇게 채널을 분리한데는, 그동안 재즈오빠 채널에 Jpop이나 게임음악 관련 음악 콘텐츠를 꾸준히 올리다 보니, 구독자님들 풀이 어느덧 이쪽 계열(서브컬쳐를 사랑해주시는 팀원분들 ... !!!!!)로 많이 형성되게 되었고, 채널의 알고리즘 또한 이쪽 계열로 고착화 된 부분이 있습니다 ㅎㅎ.. 그래서 이곳을 일반적인 재즈 BGM(지금 라이브란 느낌)과 서브컬처계열 재즈BGM(동영상 란)이 섞인 모호한 공간보다는, 아예 저희 채널을 사랑해 주시는 구독자분들의 성향(그러니까 사실 제 취향이긴합니다 ㅎㅎㅎ)에 딱 맞춰 더욱 전문화시키기로 결정했습니다 .. !

새롭게 분리되는 "오늘은 재즈데이" (Jazzday / ‪@Jazzdayofficial‬ ) 채널은 디즈니/지브리 재즈나 저희 채널 초기 컨텐츠 (뉴욕 재즈 / 계절 재즈) 처럼, 누구나 편안하게 들을 수 있는 대중적인 재즈 BGM을 위한 공간으로 가꾸려 합니다 !!(무슨느낌인지아시죠 >?>) 매장이나 병원 대기실 등에서 흘러나올 법한 아늑한 플레이리스트들을 주로 업로드할 예정입니다 :) 이미지 역시 기존에 제가 올리던 것처럼 모던하고 편안한 느낌의 실사 이미지 위주로 채워질 예정이구요 !! 또한 저희 매일 올라가는 데일리 재즈도 이쪽으로 차차 옮길 생각이에요 :)

그리고 지금 계신 이 재즈오빠 채널은, 어렵게 모시게 된 훌륭한 일러스트레이터 분들과 협업하여 앞으로 세상에 하나도 없던, 엄청엄청 유니크한 재즈 채널로 키워나가며 real로 100만 구독자를 목표로, 글로벌 시장을 향해 달려나갈 계획입니다! (반과반의반년~1년 정도 있으면 채널 이미지가 확 바뀌지 않을까 합니다 🙂🙂 )

(사실 일반적인 재즈 BGM 컨텐츠를 아예 안할까도 생각을 했는데, 일반 재즈 연주도 제가 나름 즐기는지라 ㅎㅎ , 하면서 스킬 쌓이는것도 있구요 .. ! 그래서 아예 안하기는 싫어, 분리한 것도 있습니다🙂 )

Hello to my beloved Jazzoppa subscribers :) It's the Jazzoppa!

Some of you might have noticed..!! To be honest... it's been about 3 months since I opened a new channel.
It's been a while since I created the channel, but the direction of the two channels has finally settled clearly in my mind, so I'm officially sharing the news with you :)

The reason I separated the channels is that, as I kept uploading J-pop or game music-related (subculture-style) music content on the Jazzoppa channel, our subscriber pool naturally formed heavily around this genre (our team members who love subculture... !!!!!), and the channel's algorithm has also become somewhat fixed in this direction haha.. So rather than leaving this place as an ambiguous space where general jazz BGM (like the current live section) and subculture jazz BGM (the videos section) are mixed, I decided to specialize it perfectly to match the tastes of the subscribers who love our channel (which is actually my taste too hahaha).. !

The newly separated "Today is Jazzday" (Jazzday / ‪@Jazzdayofficial‬ ) channel will be cultivated as a space for popular jazz BGM that anyone can listen to comfortably, like Disney/Ghibli jazz or our channel's early content (New York jazz / seasonal jazz) !! (You know what vibe I mean, right >?>) I plan to mainly upload cozy playlists that you might hear in stores or hospital waiting rooms :) The images will also be filled mainly with modern and comfortable real-life images like the ones I used to upload!! I'm also thinking of gradually moving our daily jazz uploads over there as well :)

And this Jazzoppa channel you are currently on, in collaboration with the wonderful illustrators I managed to bring on board, is planned to grow into a super, super unique jazz channel like nothing else in the world, sprinting towards the global market with a real goal of 1 million subscribers! (I think the channel's image will change drastically in about 9 months to a year 🙂🙂 )

(Honestly, I thought about stopping general jazz BGM content altogether, but I kind of enjoy playing general jazz too haha, and it helps me build my skills..! So I didn't want to stop it completely, which is another reason why I separated them 🙂 )

愛するJazzoppa（ジャズオッパ）のチャンネル登録者の皆様、こんにちは :) チャンネルの主です！

薄々お気づきの方もいらっしゃったかもしれませんが..!! 実は... 新しいチャンネルを開設して大体3ヶ月ほどになります。
チャンネルを作ってから少し経ちますが、ようやく2つのチャンネルの方向性が私の中でしっかりと定まったので、こうして正式にお知らせいたします :)

このようにチャンネルを分けたのには理由がありまして、これまでJazzoppaチャンネルにJ-popやゲーム音楽関連（サブカルチャー系）の音楽コンテンツを継続してアップロードしてきた結果、登録者の皆様の層もいつの間にかそちらの系統（サブカルを愛してくださるチームメンバーの皆様... !!!!!）で多く形成され、チャンネルのアルゴリズムもそちらの系統に定着してきた部分があります（笑）なので、ここを一般的なジャズBGM（今のライブ欄のような感じ）とサブカル系ジャズBGM（動画欄）が混ざった曖昧な空間にするよりは、いっそのこと当チャンネルを愛してくださる登録者の皆様の傾向（つまり実は私の好みでもあります、笑）にぴったり合わせて、さらに専門化させることに決めました .. !

新しく分離した「今日はJazzday（ジャズデイ）」（Jazzday / ‪@Jazzdayofficial‬ ）チャンネルは、ディズニー/ジブリのジャズや当チャンネルの初期コンテンツ（ニューヨークジャズ / 季節のジャズ）のように、誰もがリラックスして聴ける大衆的なジャズBGMのための空間に育てていこうと思います !!（どんな感じか分かりますよね >?>）お店や病院の待合室などで流れているような、居心地の良いプレイリストを主にアップロードする予定です :) 画像も、これまで私がアップロードしていたような、モダンでリラックスできる実写画像を中心にする予定です！！ また、毎日アップロードしているデイリージャズも、徐々にこちらに移していくつもりです :)

そして今いらっしゃるこのJazzoppaチャンネルは、苦労してお迎えした素晴らしいイラストレーターの方々とコラボして、これからはこの世に二つとない、超超ユニークなジャズチャンネルへと育てていき、リアルに登録者数100万人を目標にして、グローバル市場に向けて走り抜ける計画です！（9ヶ月〜1年くらい経てば、チャンネルのイメージがガラッと変わるのではないかと思います 🙂🙂 ）

（実は、一般的なジャズBGMのコンテンツは一切やめようかとも考えたのですが、一般的なジャズの演奏も私なりに楽しんでいますし（笑）、やりながらスキルアップに繋がる部分もあるので .. ! だから完全にやめてしまうのは嫌で、分離したというのもあります 🙂 ）

구독자들께는 처음 말씀드리는 것 같은데, 사실 그동안 저는 1평 남짓한 아주 작은 부스에서 작업을 해왔습니다. (제 전생을 아시는 분만 아시는...! 여름엔 덥고, 겨울엔 답답했던...)

하지만 채널이 성장하고 작업량이 늘어나면서, 좁은 환경이 답답하기도 하고.. 주변 소음과 민원 걱정에 구애받지 않고 몰입할 수 있는 환경이 필요하더라고요. 그래서 이번에 큰 맘 먹고 제대로 된 방음 스튜디오를 세팅했습니다!

방음 시공의 명가 '라흐마니노프 방음' 과 함께했습니다:)

시공 후 몇 달간 써보며 느낀점은
Point 1. 24시간 피아노를 쳐도, 새벽 3시에 풀볼륨 작업을 해도 끄떡없는 완벽한 차음 (민원 zero!)
Point 2. 스피커와 어쿠스틱 피아노 본연의 소리를 살려주는 따뜻한 룸어쿠스틱
Point 3. 장시간 작업에도 편안한 우드 톤의 모던한 인테리어까지

이제 이 공간에서 여러분들께 더 좋은 퀄리티의 음악과 여러 컨텐츠들을 들려드릴 수 있을 것 같아 벌써부터 설레네요. (실버버튼도 이제야 제 자리를 찾은 느낌... 이랄까요)

I think this is the first time I’m mentioning this to my subscribers, but to be honest, I’ve been working in a tiny booth barely 35 sq ft (about 1 pyeong) in size until now. (Only those who know my "past life" would know this...! It was scorching hot in the summer and stifling in the winter...)

However, as the channel grew and the workload increased, the cramped environment became frustrating. I realized I needed a space where I could fully immerse myself without worrying about surrounding noise or complaints. So, I made a big decision and set up a proper soundproof studio!

I partnered with 'Rachmaninoff Soundproofing', a master of soundproofing construction. :)

After using the studio for a few months, here are my thoughts: Point 1. Perfect sound isolation. Whether I play the piano 24/7 or work at full volume at 3 AM, there are absolutely no issues. (Zero noise complaints!) Point 2. Warm room acoustics that bring out the natural, authentic sound of the speakers and the acoustic piano. Point 3. A modern wood-tone interior that keeps me comfortable even during long work sessions.

I’m already excited just thinking about presenting better quality music and various content to you all from this new space. (It feels like the Silver Button has finally found its rightful place... sort of.)

지난 2025년에는 저도 AI 일러스트 기술이 신기한 마음에 썸네일 등에 몇 번 사용해 보기도 했는데요. 대 AI 시대에 핸드메이드 음악을 만드는 사람으로서 긴 시간 깊이 고민해 본 결과...

맥락과 감정이 담기지 않은 AI 일러스트보단, 작가님의 애정과 해석이 담긴 그림이 제 음악과 더 어울리지 않을까 하여, 2026년부터는AI 일러스트 사용을 지양하고, 사람의 손끝에서 나오는 따뜻한 손맛을 담고 싶다는 결론을 내렸습니다.

그래서 저희 채널의 음악에 멋진 색을 입혀주실 일러스트레이터 작가님을 모시려고 합니다!

In 2025, out of curiosity about AI technology, I used AI illustrations for thumbnails a few times. However, as someone who creates "handmade music" in this "Great AI Era," I have thought deeply about this for a long time...

I concluded that rather than AI illustrations, which often lack context and emotion, art filled with an artist's affection and interpretation resonates more with my music. Therefore, starting in 2026, I have decided to move away from AI art for fan content and embrace the warm "hand-crafted touch" that comes from human hands.

안녕하세요, 재즈오빠입니다.

최근 채널에 사용된 이미지들에 대해
AI 생성 이미지가 여러 이유로 불편하게 느껴진다는 피드백을 여러 번 접하게 되었고,
이쯤에서 제 입장을 한 번 솔직하게 말씀드리는 게 맞겠다는 생각이 들었습니다.
변명이라고 할 수도 있겠지만... 어쨌든 이건 꼭 말씀드리고 싶었습니다.

채널 초기에 1인으로 운영하면서, 한 팬분이 제안해주신 “캐릭터 + 악기”라는 조합을 썸네일에 처음 적용해봤던 게 바로 ‘재진스’ 재즈 플레이리스트였습니다.
그 썸네일 하나로 조회수가 확 뛰는 걸 직접 목격하고, “아 이거다!” 싶어서 이후 다른 플리에도 조금씩 시도하게 됐네요...

그 다음 요아소비 재즈 플레이리스트에서 ‘호시노 아이가 콘트라베이스를 연주하는’ 장면을 넣어봤고,
그 플리마저 반응이 좋아서 아예 요아소비 2편에서는 트럼펫을 들려줬는데...
이건 뭔가 썸네일이 좀 난잡해서 망했습니다...

그러다 요루시카 할 때 ‘프리렌’ 썸네일이 너무 깔끔하게 나와서 사용했는데,
그건 또 반응이 꽤 좋더라고요.

그때부터 "아예 이런 썸네일 작업을 해주실 작가님을 찾아봐야겠다"는 생각이 들었습니다.
실제로 관련 업계에 계신 지인분께도 여쭤보고, 일러스트 페어도 가보고, 인터넷도 뒤지고 하면서 여기저기 알아봤는데…
제가 원하는 구도나 그림체, 그리고 “악기를 연주하는 느낌”을 잡아줄 수 있는 분은 찾기 어렵고,
퀄리티 있는 작가님들은 대부분 2차창작을 안 하신다고 하시더라고요.
물론 비용을 더 높이면 가능한 경우도 있었겠지만, 채널 규모상 수지타산이 맞지 않아
결국 커미션 쪽은 자연스럽게 접을 수밖에 없었습니다.

그러던 와중에, 2025년 들어
제가 머릿속으로 상상하던 구도와 분위기, 배경, 악기까지 그대로 구현할 수 있는 AI 툴이 나왔습니다.
"와, 이 정도면 이거 바로 써도 되겠다...." 싶어서 몇몇 썸네일에 시도해보게 됐고,
음악이 메인이니까 썸네일은 보조적인 장치 정도로 생각했어요.

하지만, 생각보다 AI 이미지라는 사실 자체에 거부감을 가지신 분들이 계셨고,
특히 “원작자의 동의 없이 학습된 이미지 스타일”로 2차창작을 한다는 것에 대해
불편함을 느끼시는 분들의 반응을 보며 저도 점점 더 고민하게 되었습니다.

사실 2차창작 자체는 유튜브판에서 흔히 있는 일이지만,
AI가 관여하게 되면 이야기가 많이 달라지는 것도 맞고요.
그 특유의 인위적인 감성도 어떤 분들에겐 이질감으로 다가올 수 있다는 걸 알게 됐습니다....

그래서 지금은… 솔직히 말씀드리면,
현재로서는 이 썸네일을 대체할 수 있는 뚜렷한 방안이 없는 것도 사실입니다.
여전히 그림체나 분위기, 악기를 함께 표현해줄 수 있는 작가님을 찾기 어려운 상황이고,
그렇다고 아무 이미지나 쓸 수도 없어 결국 AI 생성 이미지에 의존하고 있는 상황입니다.

사실 직접 만들어본 썸네일들 중엔, 음악의 분위기와 맞지 않거나 오히려 시청에 방해가 되는 경우도 적지 않았습니다. (예전부터 구독해오신 분들께선 아실거라 믿습니다.. 제가 음악 원툴인지라... ㅜ.ㅜ)
그럴 때마다 저도 참 마음이 불편했고,
그래서 지금은 최소한 음악의 흐름을 해치지 않는 선에서 조심스럽게 이미지를 고르고 있다는 점,
이해해주시면 감사하겠습니다.

그리고 사실, 저도 직감하고 있습니다.
언젠간 저 역시 AI로 대체될 운명이라는 걸요... (얼마 안남은것 같기도 합니다.)
그걸 알면서도 지금은 이 도구를 쓸 수밖에 없는 현실이,
저 스스로에게도 참 모순적으로 느껴집니다.

하지만 그럼에도 불구하고,
인간 시대의 마지막 같은.. 지금 이 시점에서 스스로 모순을 느끼면서도.. 밀려드는 AI 채널에 맞서, 채널의 존속을 위해.. 할 수 있는 최선의 선택을 하고 있다는 점,
그 마음만큼은 이해해주셨으면 좋겠습니다.

앞으로는 썸네일 이미지에 대해 좀 더 신중하게 접근하려고 합니다.
장기적으로는 AI에 맞서 전부 사람이 운영하는 시스템을 만들어보고픈 마음이 항상 있기에...
가능하면 언젠가는 작가님과 협업해 썸네일도 만들어보고 싶네요....

그리고 한 가지 더 말씀드리고 싶은 건요.
제 채널은 어디까지나 ‘일러스트’나 ‘비주얼 콘텐츠’ 중심이 아닌,
제 음악과 재즈를 함께 나누고 싶은 마음으로 시작된 ‘음악 채널’ 입니다.
썸네일은 그저 음악에 도달하기 위한 입구 같은 역할이라 생각해왔기에 (평범하면 다들 안누르길래....)
때론 조금 과감하거나, AI 사용 등 실험적인 시도도 있었던 점, 너그러이 봐주시면 감사하겠습니다.

I’ve recently received multiple pieces of feedback from viewers who feel uncomfortable with the AI-generated images used on the channel. At this point, I thought it would be right to honestly share my stance on this. It might sound like an excuse, but I really wanted to say this.

In the early days of the channel, when I was running it alone, I first tried the combination of a “character + instrument” for a thumbnail based on a suggestion from a fan. That idea debuted in the ‘JAZZEANS’ jazz playlist. After seeing a sudden spike in views from just that one thumbnail, I thought, “Yes, this is it!” and started gradually applying it to other playlists as well.

After that, for the YOASOBI jazz playlist, I tried showing “Hoshino Ai playing the contrabass.” That playlist also got a positive reaction, so in the second YOASOBI installment, I gave her a trumpet… but the thumbnail ended up looking a bit too crowded, and it didn’t do well.

Then, when I did Yorushika, I tried using the “Frieren” thumbnail, which came out looking really neat, and people responded quite well to it.

From that point on, I started thinking, “I should find an artist who can create thumbnails like this.” I asked a friend in a related industry, visited illustration fairs, searched around the internet, and so on… but it was hard to find someone who could capture the exact style, composition, or “feeling of playing an instrument” I had in mind. And most of the high-quality artists said they don’t do fan art or derivative works. Of course, I suppose it could be done if I paid more, but it’s not really cost-effective for a channel of my size, so I naturally gave up on commissions.

Then, in 2025, AI tools emerged that could precisely realize the composition, atmosphere, and instruments I was imagining in my head. I thought, “Wow, at this level, I can use this right away…” and tried it out for several thumbnails. Since the music is the main focus, I considered the thumbnails as more of a supporting element.

However, some viewers had a negative reaction to the mere fact that the images were AI-generated. In particular, they felt uncomfortable with the idea of “derivative works created using an image style learned without the original artist’s consent.” Seeing these responses made me think a lot about it, too.

Indeed, while derivative works are fairly common on YouTube, it’s also true that once AI is involved, the conversation changes significantly. I also came to understand that the artificial quality unique to AI can feel strange or off-putting to some people.

So, to be honest, as of now, there’s no clear alternative to replace these thumbnails. I still haven’t found an artist who can capture both the art style and the mood along with the instruments, and I can’t just use any random image. In the end, I’m relying on AI-generated images.

To be frank, among the thumbnails I’ve made, there were quite a few that didn’t match the music’s vibe or even distracted from the viewing experience. (Those who have been subscribed for a while would know… I only excel at music… ㅜ.ㅜ) I’ve felt uncomfortable every time that happened, and nowadays I choose images with great caution, at least to avoid disrupting the flow of the music. I hope you’ll understand.

And honestly, I feel it in my gut: one day I, too, will inevitably be replaced by AI… (It might not be far off.) Even knowing that, I still use these tools, which is contradictory in a way. I’m well aware this is a paradox, and I find it difficult myself.

But even so, at this moment, I’m doing my best, albeit with contradictions, in what feels like the final era of purely human creativity. I hope you can at least appreciate my intentions.

Moving forward, I plan to approach thumbnail creation more carefully. Someday, if possible, I’d love to collaborate with an artist to make the thumbnails. (If anyone is interested, please do reach out!)

One more thing I want to emphasize: my channel is fundamentally an “audio channel,” driven by my love for music and jazz. It’s not centered on illustrations or visual content. I’ve always seen thumbnails as mere gateways for people to discover the music. (Because if the thumbnail looks too plain, people won’t click…) That’s why I’ve sometimes gone bold or tried experimental approaches like using AI. I’d appreciate your understanding in that regard.
Through this message, I would like to sincerely apologize to any original creator who may have felt uncomfortable with the use of my thumbnails.


I will continue to put my heart into these playlists. Even if there are shortcomings, I’d be grateful if you could overlook them kindly.
