The reason why you're reading and thinking is not just to retain facts but to change the patterns of your heart, mind, soul, and body. Not nearly a hearer but a doer.

Aren't the Bear Paw Cookies so adorable! They're made the same way as Peanut Butter Blossom cookies but with chocolate wafers and chocolate chips instead.

Don't confuse the idea of academics being the most important thing about growing up. If you look at YOUR childhood, what were the MOST important things?
I doubt your answer will be "Oh, this one exam I took!"
I'm pretty sure your response will be more along the lines of relationships or a real-life experience.
Don't let academics take over what will be most impactful.
