πŸ’™ Scottish Sleep Stories | Harry Potter | Mythology | Lord of the Rings | Meditations | Immersive Ambience πŸ’™

Hello! I'm Sam. Allow me to whisper my sleepy stories of Scotland's natural world, all with the help of a soft, soothing island voice. Lay yourself down, get comfortable and lose yourself in the sea of gentle tones gifted by one of the world's most beautiful countries.

"Snooze with Sam" is brought to you by Sam Lawson, an entrepreneur, health and fitness fanatic and lifelong musician from the Isle of Skye. He runs a Coaching business in Glasgow, Scotland, and finds great satisfaction in helping others find peace within themselves, coaching them on towards personal transformation.

Snooze with Sam

Hello everyone ❀️
Thank you as always for being so patient with a next update. I only have the use of one hand just now, so I apologise for being fairly brief.

This will never change, but I want to wholeheartedly thank you all for continuing to listen and support as you are. You blow my tiny little mind every day. So do my closer support network of Christine, my parents, my sister, my friends and everyone else who has been by my side through what has become through hardest thing I've ever had to face, and a lot tougher than I'd care to admit.

After having tasted sweet, sweet freedom, I am back bed bound in High Dependency after an initial operation to apply a skin flap graft from my wrist to my right ankle. Unfortunately, there had been no healing in the right foot over the last 2 months, so we started again with this side. The first operation eventually failed about 36 hours later, meaning back into theatre to try again. It has now been 48 hours since and we're now hopeful this 2nd attempt will stick. I am hoping it'll only be another few days being stuck in this bed. The pain is still a very real thing. I am humbled by it's everlasting presence.
3 limbs put of action now! Who's keeping count? 😜

It's been 2 months now, and there's no sign of the exit yet. So the saying goes; two steps forward, one step back.
I don't mind admitting this last week has beaten the life out of me on a few occasions. I am not superman. I am not invincible. I am fragile, as much as I try to he as strong and resilient as it is possible to be. But it's quite clear to me that my experiences of life going forward will absolutely revolve around my people. ❀️ My family. My community. You are all part of that.

Thank you for being patient with me. Stories will go out when I can physically make them. Believe me, I am trying my absolute hardest to get out of this, all the while trying to learn as much as possible on the way.

Love to you all, from an uncomfortable bed somewhere in Glasgow, baking his leg at a steady 38⁰C. 😘 S x

Thank you all very much for being patient once more. I truly hope that, wherever you are listening from, you are healthy and happy, and in some way or another, following your dreams. ❀️ You don't deserve any less, do you? ☺️

I'll update you as best I can in a moment, but we (myself and Christine) simply must express our continued awe and gratitude to you all, and thank you for your amazing support through this rather challenging spell. Your continuous listens, donations, and Patreon memberships are so appreciated mo words can really do them justice.
I said challenging, rather than bad, or difficult, because ultimately that is what we are seeing this as; a challenge. Yes, we've cried, and felt down, and wondered what our future will now look like, and all manner of other perfectly normal, emotional things to feel. The key thing is, though, that we're embracing the journey as something valuable and rewarding despite none of this being part of our plans.

I am in the fortunate position of being accustomed to challenging myself mentally and physically. I've done it many times, be it a spell of self-improvement, changing of habits, or even setting myself goals in the gym.
I'm under no illusion that this is our greatest challenge yet, but we're confident that we can overcome each step and, in time, help me walk again and regain valued mobility once more.😊

So, over the last few weeks, not a lot has changed. Recovery is going well enough, with only a few hiccups occurring. I am still not able to 'hop' much on the left leg before the pain becomes unbearable. The right leg is currently in a cast, but one of the wounds is not healing properly. As a result, further surgery is imminent for another skin graft at a minimum, with the possibility of further work needing required.
This is a slow process, and I am still likely to be in hospital for a while yet.

On a more positive note, the use of a wheelchair has been a life saver! That, and the ability to use the physios 'gym' frequently means I am doing my very best to stay strong in all the muscles that will tolerate the work! It's painful, but I'm not sure if I care! 😜
I'm just kidding...the physios keep me honest and sensible. Mostly... hehe.

Another wonderful thing happened last night: I left the hospital grounds for the first time! πŸ₯³ Christine and I packed up the wheelchair in our wee car, and we scooted our way along the road to find some ice cream! 🍦 Physically, it was a little tricky, and the car journey was a little overwhelming (sounds odd, but it was), but we had the most wonderful evening together. I almost forgot about the pain altogether. ❀️

Stories-wise, I really am stuck where I am, which I am trying not to get down about. It's truly frustrating. I'd hoped not to have to, but my incredibly kind and empathetic patrons have suggested I release one or two exclusive stories to keep up with uploads. I thank them for being so understanding, and I'll be back to writing new stories as soon as I get home, whenever that may be.

As always, a huge thank you to Christine for being by my side always. I love her so much, and I am the luckiest darn thing on the planet to have her here.
Finally, thank you all once more. Not only am I lucky to have Christine and my family, but I am lucky to have you. You are keeping me going and helping me stay as strong as possible. I'm not who else could really say that, which is pretty crazy, so I am truly grateful to be able to. Thank you.

Should you feel like supporting us just now and for the coming year of inevitable recovery, which we have NO expectation of at all, then here are some ways you can do so. Thank you so very much.

Snooze with Sam

Hello, everyone. It's Sam here. Thank you all for your patience with regard to updates. I know that you'll all understand, as many of you have said, but it's been a very important couple of weeks focused on repair, keeping the mind as healthy as possible, and physiotherapy. Also, I hope the photo isn't too graphic - I've tried to obscure the left leg a little.

Firstly, I want to thank Christine. She knows, as I tell her often, but she is the main reason I have been able to maintain perspective and positivity. So many of you have extended your support to her, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❀️.  If any of you were worrying, fear not. I am in the best hands possible. Thank you, Christine.

Next, I want to thank you all, of course. Where do I start? Has anyone else noticed the sheer quantity of love and support that's been sent our way? I am beyond speechless. We are. We're just two humble people, with simple needs, full hearts, and a lot of determination. But we're not so channelled that we can't be bowled over by your support and love. There is no other word for it: it's love. You have been gifting it and spreading it in a quantity that we've never seen before, and words can not begin to describe how grateful we are. Christine began the support page, and never in my wildest dreams would I have thought it would be so successful. It's all down to every one of you, and it's already making us breathe easier and help us know we'll be OK despite what's happened. Thank you all so, so much. Soon, we will somehow express our gratitude in a better way than through this message.

Finally, I suppose I shall update you a little on how things are this end. We are positive for the most part, as we always strive to be. 😊 but we also know that low points will come, and they are necessary so that we can even feel the good points. There is a lot of in-person support going on, as well as the incredible care from the staff at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. ❀️
Many of you have gathered that recovery is going to be slow, and that's proving true.
My pelvis has been successfully fixed, as well as both ankles. There are complications with both legs, resulting in slower progress to full weight bearing on the left leg, but a further operation soon should hopefully help. The muscle graft is healthy and healing well.
Pain is an obstacle 24/7, but my upper body remains strong and fit, bar a fractured wrist, so I can happily chuck myself about in that way! πŸ˜†
I am very driven and determined in my nature (just ask Christine) so have been advised to chill out a little by the staff when it comes to the rehab, but I am hopeful that we'll be in a better place soon.
I am far from being able to walk, though I am able to use a wheelchair now, which has been fantastic for getting OUTSIDE, as well as having a little independence back, which I've loved.
Like I know you all appreciate, this is a very slow process, and we're only at the beginning, but I hope you appreciate a little more detail in how things are here in Scotland.

All of our love is extended out to you all. Due to the quantity we've received, our hearts are brimmed, so we've got a lot to give. ❀️
Thank you.

As before, should you feel like supporting us just now and for the coming year of inevitable recovery, for which we have NO expectation of at all, then here are some ways you can do so. Thank you so very much.

Hi everyone; before I say anything else, we are simply speechless at the seemingly endless love and support you've all given. You are all incredible, and we are so overwhelmed that one day we'll try to find the right words to thank you all. So for now, we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you all so, so much.

Sam: he's OK. Yesterday were his 4th and 5th surgeries, and hopefully, his last. The last 24 hours has been the most difficult so far, but thankfully the pain is more under control as of this afternoon. Pre-op, he was up and putting weight on his left leg, but now the right leg has been worked on, he's back to bed for now. He's feeling as positive as possible, truly.

I'll try and update more frequently, but hopefully this helps a little in the meantime. We love you all. Thank you.

Christine x

As always, we have zero expectations, but should anyone wish to support Sam and his recovery over the coming year, you can do so here. Thank you so much.

Snooze with Sam

Hello, my name is Christine, Sam's partner, and I'm here to bring you the unfortunate news that Sam was badly injured in a car crash near Glasgow on the 11th of June.
To tell a long story short, Sam is currently in the hospital after over a week of intensive operations, surgeries, grafts, and other limb-saving procedures. He's got a good few injuries, but the main ones are broken bones in his pelvis and both ankles/feet. Finally after a week of heavy sedation, I am so happy to say that he is finally conscious enough to think straight enough, but also to talk. It is looking well that both leg appendages will be salvageable through the amazing work of Glasgow's Hospital staff, but nothing is confirmed yet or will be for the foreseeable.

To keep it short, this brings me to the thing many of you know Sam best for: his work. Frankly, we don't know how long Sam will be in his state of recovery before he is truly able to return to consistently providing sleep stories and coaching sessions for you all, no matter the platform you listen from. Sam will be in and out of physical therapy over the coming months, and it's truly unknown how his work will be affected by his life-changing injuries.

We live a very humble life, as many of you know, and I'd like to ask if at all possible, if we were able to raise enough for Sam to live on for the equivalent of just 2-3 months then Sam can hopefully be back to writing our cherished sleep stories for us all without too much damage to his valuable channels. He might be able to add a video of his own to this, in which case I will link it below.

It goes without saying that we both know just how much your existing support means to us both, and rest assured, Sam is being cared for by his loved ones and will be OK one way or another. I am asking you, if at all possible, that even if we can raise just a little of the target, it will make a difference in helping Sam bridge the gap in the incredibly challenging months to follow. We have zero expectation, be it through this, Patreon, or any other platform we just want to help support Sam in any possible way.

Thank you, from Mrs SWS and the SWS Family

- I'd ask you to be flexible with the final title, please. This is for YouTube reasons, as I want your work to find as many people as possible!
