Since my last upload, I’ve gotten Low Tier 2 Sword on both of the Minecraft PvP tier lists, making me a top player in Sword! I plan to make a long overdue Sword PvP guide explaining everything I’ve learned since then. I’ll leave a video in the comments showing my gameplay if you’re interested.

HUGE NEWS: By changing your branch on Lunar Client to “modern-miss-penalty”, you can now disable the 1.8 miss penalty on 1.21.4! This effectively lets you get 1.7 PvP back on 1.21.4! If you’re using Fabric, Animatium now disables the 1.8 miss penalty as well.

The 1.8 miss penalty makes some of your attack swings not to through if you’re not clicking on an entity. It’s the biggest difference between 1.7 PvP and 1.8 PvP aside from the animations, since it can make your hit registration feel noticeably worse when clicking at high speeds.

Lunar Client and Animatium ONLY disable the 1.8 miss penalty on servers that enable this feature. Currently, Modern MMC (minemen.club) is the only 1.21.4 server that supports this feature.

Made a quick tutorial on how to install Animatium on Lunar Client. Animatium is the mod that brings back 1.7/1.8 animations to 1.21.4. Highly recommend using it if you're trying 1.8 combat on Modern MMC!

Just to clarify, all of the kits within the casual queue on Modern MMC use 1.9 combat except for NoDebuff and Fireball Mace. Both of those kits use 1.8 combat. If you want to try more 1.8 gamemodes on Modern MMC, you need to create them within the custom kit menu for the time being.
