Giving some love to a 1994 classic! 🕹️ I have been exploring the possibility of a 4K project for Burn:Cycle on the Philips CD-i.
As you can see in the comparison image, I am interested in what could be achieved with upscaling, restoration, and color correction. However, I am not working on the 4K project yet because I do not have access to the uncompressed full-motion video (FMV) source files from the original game.
My goal is to obtain those files to make a full restoration possible. I am looking to connect with anyone who has the technical skills to help modernize this game or has relevant connections with the copyright owners and studio personnel that created the original. I have reached out to Olaf Wendt via email a couple of weeks ago but no response yet. I would love to collaborate with others to see if this project can be brought to fruition.
What do you think of this visual concept? Any fellow fans of this cult classic out there? Let me know in the comments! 👇
Damn...thanks to all! What started as a continuation of the movie in pieces/increments over 7 years ago in order to cover the missing half from another fellow YouTube uploader. Thanks for making it hit 100k views 👍👍
