Hello!
I graduated with a Bachelors in Chemistry and a Masters in Environmental Engineering. Currently, I work as a Water Resource Control Engineer for the California State Water Resources Control Board. My previous work experiences range from working as an Environmental Engineer for the US Air Force, a Cancer Researcher for a private R&D company, and a Teaching Assistant at my graduate school.
Now I'm showing others how to become a successful Environmental Engineer and what it's really like in this field.
On this channel, I talk about
- Environmental Engineering and other related topics
- Sometimes personal growth and self-development

It's important to reflect on the significance of this annual celebration and the crucial role we all play in protecting our planet. This Earth Day, let's come together as a community to celebrate our planet and reaffirm our commitment to its protection. Let's approach this day with a spirit of optimism and determination, knowing that our collective efforts can create a more sustainable world. Whether it's through small, everyday actions or larger-scale initiatives, each of us has the power to make a positive impact.
It's not much, and I know it won't change the world, but I celebrated by picking up trash this weekend. I'm also sprouting some seeds in my backyard from produce I got at the grocery store—like bell peppers, squash, and tomatoes. It's a way to save some money, avoid an extra trip to the store, and feel a deeper connection with nature.

Happy Earth Day, everyone!
Today is a special day that reminds us of the importance of taking care of our planet. As an environmental engineer, I believe that it's crucial for us to recognize the role that the environment plays in sustaining life on our planet. Earth Day provides an opportunity for us to reflect on our impact on the environment and to take action to protect it.
Our planet faces numerous challenges, such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. These challenges have significant impacts on our health, our communities, and our economy. However, Earth Day reminds us that we can make a positive difference through our actions.
There are many ways to celebrate Earth Day and make a positive impact on the environment. You can plant trees, reduce your energy consumption, recycle, or use public transportation. You can also educate yourself and others about the importance of sustainability and the environment.
Remember, every action counts! By taking small steps in our daily lives, we can collectively make a significant impact on the environment. So let's celebrate Earth Day by committing to making a positive difference in our communities and in the world.
Thank you for joining me in celebrating Earth Day, and let's work together to protect our planet for future generations.

If you're currently working, are you getting affected by the layoffs? (Most headlines are in the tech sector.)

Are you into the whole, "I have to buy a Christmas gift for someone, even though it's sort of a completely useless gift" thing?

This past week, my area has gone through and is still currently going through an intense heat wave. About 105 Fahrenheit (~40 Celsius). Other places around the globe are going through much worse or are facing other extreme weather conditions. Since extreme weather conditions are consequences due to climate change, did you expect this?
What extreme weather conditions, if any, are you experiencing right now at your place?

As we're approaching the peak summer season, temperatures are increasing all throughout the world with different countries and US states set to break record temperatures nearly every year.
Is your country/state doing any better? Do you foresee a continual increase in temperature every year for the next few decades?
What is there to do? And more specifically, what can YOU do about it?

I missed the original day to post (April 22), but HAPPY EARTH DAY!
My work had a whole slurry of activities during Earth Week and was too caught up in that.
1) We planted new plants around our facility to restore a bioswale.
Basically, replacing lots of rocks and gravel with durable plants that act as filters for stormwater runoff to flow before reaching a storm drain that leads to the ocean.
2) We handed out little indoor plants to people at our site.
Being given a free, flowering plant should brighten up anyone's day. As long as they keep the plant alive, they're doing their part in removing CO2 from the air.
3) We gave and taught children how to plant.
Since I work on a military base, military personnel can drop off their kids at the daycare center while they are at work. This event alone should be the epitome of Earth Day. To teach and encourage the next generation to live a more sustainable life and show the importance of how integrated we are with the environment.

Does anyone have a favorite vegetable or is it just me?
What's your favorite, if you have one?
Mine is steamed broccoli, and I can literally eat them as if they were a bag of potato chips.
