This year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day feels heavier, deeper, more urgent. May we all find the courage to be our most outspoken, authentic, and bold selves in the face of injustice. Dr. King’s legacy reminds us that silence is not an option, and complacency has no place in the work of justice.

As we reflect on his life, may we recommit to the tireless pursuit of equity, compassion, and truth. The arc of the moral universe may bend toward justice, but it does so only with our collective hands pulling it forward.

Let’s continue to do the work—within ourselves, in our communities, and beyond. Let’s believe that change is possible, even when it feels far away.

Today, let’s honor his memory not just with words, but with action.

I thought they said the sun doesn’t shine like this in the Pacific Northwest?” 🌞 Well, it’s shining today, baby!

Yes, it rains a lot here, but every so often, the sun breaks through—and sometimes, it even shines while the rain is falling. 🌦 That’s life, isn’t it? A mix of rain and sunshine, often all at once.

Life is complicated, and so are we. It’s okay to feel it all—joy, sadness, hope, fear—all at the same time. The key is giving yourself permission to feel without judgment. In my experience, leaning into those emotions, instead of avoiding them, makes it so much easier to process and grow.

And don’t forget to lean on your people. Find your tribe and stay close. Let’s be here for each other through all the rain and sunshine.

There’s no denying it—there’s a lot going on in the world right now. The idea of living and chasing our dreams amidst it all can feel overwhelming, even scary. The weight of it is real.

But today, I woke up and made a choice: to stare it all in the face and defiantly live. I’m still here, I’m still useful, and I’ll keep chasing my dreams until the wheels fall off—or until the end of the apocalypse 😅.

To everyone affected by the fires in LA and to anyone struggling right now, my prayers are with you. Let’s hold space for one another, keep pushing forward, and stay connected through it all.

This Christmas wasn’t my best ever—and you know what? That’s okay. I think there’s this pressure to make every holiday, birthday, or celebration outshine the last, and I’m not sure how healthy that is.

This year, I’m celebrating something deeper: growth. The last quarter of this year has transformed me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’ve expanded, evolved, and become a better version of myself—Bernard 2.0, if you will.

Coming home was a challenge because I’m navigating how to exist as this new version of me in familiar spaces. But I’m proud. Proud of how far I’ve come, proud of how I’m showing up, and proud to face these challenges head-on.

If you’ve been through your own season of growth, I hope you’re taking a moment to celebrate that, too. Let’s keep growing in 2025. Happy holidays, y’all! 🎄
