What Can Your Boss Track About You In Microsoft 365?

- Emails and Teams Messages: Your boss can easily access emails and Teams messages in Microsoft 365. They can search and filter by keywords and even enter your inbox completely if needed.

- Search History: If you use Bing under your corporate ID, your search history can be tracked. Although it's mostly for personal use, companies can't see your website traffic unless you're on a company network.

- File Backups: If you back up files to OneDrive for Business, your employer can download them without your knowledge.

- Teams Activity: Your Teams activity, like messages sent, files shared, meetings attended, and calls made, can be tracked. While usernames are masked in reports to protect privacy, they can be unmasked, giving your employer full visibility into your Teams usage.

- Presence Tracking: Though Microsoft doesn't offer a global online presence report, your employer can still see it. They could use PowerShell scripts or other software to monitor your availability throughout the day, potentially automating updates every 30 seconds.

- AI Monitoring: With tools like Copilot, your boss can inquire about your recent activities, and get back summaries of your public Teams interactions, and even check for inappropriate messages.
