Iβve been so moved by the stories youβre sharing on my latest video about downsizing. Itβs clear that 'stuff' is rarely just stuffβitβs memories, faith, and sometimes a little bit of weight weβre finally ready to set down.
Iβve heard you loud and clear on everything from the struggle of parting with cherished books to the desire for more 'real' glimpses into this season of life. I want to make sure my next video is exactly what you need right now.
Which of these would you like to see first?

It's live. π‘
After 60, I Stopped Asking 'Do I Use This?' And Everything Changed is up on the channel now β and I have to say, this one came straight from the heart.
I walked through Black Bear Cottage and finally let go of things I'd been holding onto for years. Some of it was easy. Some of it⦠wasn't.
If you're in a season of simplifying β or wondering if you ever will be ready β I made this video for you. π
π Watch it here β [link to video]
And after you watch, I'd love to know:
What's the hardest thing you've ever had to let go of β and how did it feel once it was gone?
I read every single comment. π

π£ Community Post
For three years I walked through my home asking the same question: "Do I use this?"
And nothing changed. π¦
It wasn't until I stopped asking that question and started asking a different one that I finally began to let go.
Really let go.
Tomorrow I'm sharing what that shift looked like for me here at Black Bear Cottage. The things I held onto too long. The moment I understood why.
And how it felt once they were finally gone.If you've been putting off decluttering or if you've tried and felt stuck β I think this one is going to speak to your heart.
π‘New video drops tomorrow at noon. πI'd love to know in the comments: what's the hardest thing you've ever had to let go of?

A Heartfelt Thank You to My Amazing Community π
Hello everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you for the incredible support you've shown for my latest video, Retirement Taught Me Something Nobody Tells You About (I've tagged it below)
As many of you know, I had a little technical "glitch" and had to re-upload the video, losing some of your initial comments. I was so touched to see so many of you come back to share your thoughts a second time! Your stories about "decompressing" from years of work, the time it takes to find your rhythm (even if it takes 1β3 years!), and your favorite scriptures like Psalm 4:8 have truly warmed my heart.
It is such a blessing to be "blazing this path" with all of you. Whether you are already retired, getting close, or just looking for a bit of peace in a busy world, Iβm so glad we are on this journey together.
Iβd love to hear more from you today: What is one thing that has brought you unexpected peace this week? ποΈ
Thank you for being such a kind and encouraging community. Iβm looking forward to reading more of your stories!
With gratitude,
Suzanne

New video tomorrow β and I almost didn't make this one.
Because it meant admitting something a little embarrassing.
After years of looking forward to retirement... I kept forgetting I was retired.
That old pull toward Monday morning busyness followed me right into this new season. The guilt about sitting still. The feeling that I should be doing something β even when there was nothing left to do.
If you've ever felt that, I think tomorrow's video will speak right to where you are.
See you tomorrow. π

There was a moment at work when my body said enough.
A panic attack. Right there at my desk.
It made me stop and ask a question I'd been avoiding: What am I actually working for?
I'd always planned to wait until 70 to take Social Security. More money. More security. That was the plan.
But the plan didn't account for what I was losing in the meantime.
In my new video, I'm sharing the real numbers β my actual budget, what I gave up, and the surprising reason I didn't wait.
If you're anywhere near this season of life, I think this one will speak to your heart. π₯
I love hearing from you β have you thought about what early retirement would look like for you? Leave a comment and let me know. π

Thank you all for the beautiful prayers and encouragement on my latest video about early retirement! β¨
Iβve noticed many of you in the comments asking about my journey as an authorβspecifically how I got started with self-publishing and how I use journaling to manage my anxiety during big life transitions.
Iβm thinking about making a dedicated video to answer these questions. Would that be helpful to you? Please vote or leave a comment below letting me know what specifically youβd like to hear about!

Last Monday morning I had a panic attack at my desk.
I have never had a panic attack in my life. And it scared me.
But over the next few days β as I sat quietly with that fear, and prayed, and journaled β something became very clear.
My body wasn't broken. It was simply telling me the truth.
Enough.
I have made a decision. A difficult one. A terrifying one. And honestly β the most peace-filled one I have ever made.
I am retiring at 64. Earlier than I planned.
Today's video is the full story β the panic attack, the week of prayer, why I'm taking Social Security at 64, and the simple, faithful life I am building here at Black Bear Cottage.
If you are somewhere between 60 and 70 and still white-knuckling it through your final working years β I think this one is for you. π

Dear Friends,
This week I asked you what you were working on in your inner home β and more than half of you said the same thing.
Learning to trust God's timing.
That answer stopped me. Because that is exactly where I am right now too.
I woke up at 4am this week. Not because anything was wrong with the cottage. But because there is a life-changing decision in front of me β and I don't have the answer yet.
What I do know is this: trusting God's timing doesn't mean sitting still and waiting for something to happen. I think we've gotten that wrong.
Today's video is for every woman who is in a waiting season right now β wondering if God has forgotten her, whether it's too late, or whether she's missed her moment.
You haven't. He sees you. And He is working.
π Three scriptures. Three practical steps. All for you.
π Watch here: https://youtu.be/4m5UViXJPyM
What are you trusting God's timing for right now? I would love to hear from you. π
