Here’s to my Spotify Wrapped and Apple Results/journey ‼️
This year’s apple and Spotify wrapped results is AMAZING. It means a lot to me that y’all continue to show up for me. I really put my all into my art and to see you (MY KNOWERS) welcome my every fiber of my being with open arms even when I fake quit or I’m telling my story in an art form that I view as life and death is really appreciated! The whole entire journey of How is he the villain? Showed me my real supporters and how hard yall go for me fr. Next to my passion it’s really yall that make me look at my 9-5 and be like this is temporary. I have wonderful human beings to show up for. I want to thank those of you as well that have me as your top artist! It means everything to me so please Make yourself known! Closing out I wanna say it’s more to come and I can’t wait to share it with you in SWEET 26
I’ve been working on this album for a long time to be honest. This was actually suppose to release October of last year. I kept on pushing it back for different reasons. Sometimes it would be because of bills and financial barriers or an engineer’s availability or having to adapt to change. I felt like I was missing out on events and moments and felt counted out frfr. All frustrating at points for sure. Getting a team of voice actors or people in general to believe in you enough to bring your vision to life is not easy at all. I’ve had people leave me on read or reject me or outright not read my message at all! Which is why I am so appreciative for the wonderful people who believed in the vision. This album in its drawing board phase has had many revisions. Keep in mind NAKER my last album was released in 2020 and since then I’ve been tryna put together a follow up. It wasn’t until 2023 after I released HOW IS HE THE VILLAIN?(the single) I was like I want to turn this into a full conceptual story. Even then I was like where do I start? Then 2024 hit and ideas start forming slowly but surely. I knew I wanted every song to have “Villain” in the title but I didn’t know how the story or message was gone to flow. as I kept writing and recording… things started making sense. It was a point in journey though where I felt burnt out or exhausted because of working at my 9-5 and trying to make this happen at the same time and I would beat myself up for. I told myself that shit have to change so I picked up the “Artist’s Way” book and start reading and applying what I read. I started writing three pages a day of the first thing that came to my mind and I would also write affirmations. It was a struggle in the beginning but eventually with consistency I started to see results. I started trusting myself more as a person and as an artist. I could have conversations with myself on paper and say the most wildest shit unfiltered. This helped my creativity a ton! I would wake up at 4am with ideas flowing through me. I would be at work when it’s down time writing verses or dialogue! I would be on every break doing the same. Eventually it got to a point that I did so much that all my writing/ song goals were completed before I even got off of work. This helped me progress through the project and come up with some of my best lyrics and ideas because I’m no longer telling myself “oh this is too corny” or “oh I shouldn’t say this.” I’ve learned more than ever that strangers will fuck with you more than your own people and this project is the spitting image of that. Every feature or voice actor is people I rarely know like that but you would’ve thought we were besties the way they delivered. This album was thought of before I created SWEET 25 which is why they’re connected story wise so when you listen to this you are listen to a MOVIE/TV SHOW on a Cr tv. There’s so much to unpack here with this album! there’s no one time listen for this. I’ve packed this art with Easter eggs and pop references, etc. The characters intentions, deliveries, and actions have meaning in the skits just as much as the songs themselves are layered. It’s no doubt in my mind that if you are a hip hop fan, rap fan, and alternative rap fan you will love this! Hell if you love nostalgia or nerdy shit I made this with you in Mind. This album is a spiritual journey, a statement, and commentary. I say with full confidence this is my best shit! Stream the fuck out of this… buy the fuck out of this! I want to lastly thank you all for being patient and for being here because I know it hasn’t been easy. y’all haven’t got a track since Gatekept. On my side It hasn’t been easy withholding the album snippets but we made it to the finish line.
