The Symbolism of the Horse
The artwork features a horse carrying a large basket of coins and treasures. In Chinese culture, this specific motif carries several powerful meanings:
• Ma Dao Cheng Gong (马到成功): This is a popular idiom that literally means "success upon the arrival of the horse." It signifies achieving immediate success or a speedy victory in your endeavors.
• Wealth and Prosperity: The "treasure bowl" (ju bao pen) on the horse's back, overflowing with ancient copper coins, symbolizes a steady flow of wealth and the accumulation of fortune.
• Vitality and Energy: The horse represents the "Yang" (active) energy—strength, persistence, and a soaring spirit.
The Art of Jianzhi
• The Color Red: You’ll notice it is strictly red. In China, red is the ultimate color of luck, joy, and protection. It is believed to ward off negative energy and "evil spirits."
• Intricate Craftsmanship: If you look closely, the entire image is usually cut from a single sheet of paper. The fact that all the elements (the horse, the clouds, the coins) are interconnected symbolizes longevity and unity. 💕
