Once upon a time, someone told me that piano improvisation couldn’t be learned. Either you’ve got it, or you don’t. I believed them for a while... until I didn’t. Years later, after a hand injury put an end to my concert pianist ambitions, I ended up alone at a piano, late at night, just playing. I started to improvise. It was slow. It was quiet. No one was listening. And, eventually, I figured out that you can actually learn it. Or at least pretend to.
These days, improvising is my way of getting lost. When I improvise on the piano, time seems to disappear. Mistakes happen, and occasionally something beautiful comes out when I’m not paying attention. This channel is my invitation to you. Come listen to me make mistakes. Or, even better, have a go at improvising yourself.

A New Room, A Small Break
Hey everyone, I'm taking a little break from uploading because I've felt a bit empty creatively. I'll be back when I have something to say again. In the meantime, I'm testing a new workspace. The piano is still a Hellas, but it's not the same model. The whole atmosphere feels different, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Here's a photo of my new friend.
Have you ever felt like a new room changes the way you play?

I'm new to AI! I asked it to create a dreamy image of an upright piano surrounded by clouds, but no matter how I tried, it always gave me a grand piano. So, here it is! 😄
The new video on my channel is Japanese Dreamy Song: https://youtu.be/g7mgq_D3sfM?si=2g3wb...
It was inspired by the world of Studio Ghibli - I wanted to play a simple improvisation that captures the atmosphere of their films.
I love Studio Ghibli movies. I don’t really watch them anymore, but when my kids were little, I saw almost all of them. Ghibli’s films are true works of escapist art, the kind you want to lose yourself in. Their atmosphere takes me back to my early childhood, when my imagination made anything seem possible.

I have 98 subscribers!
When I get to 100, I will... well,
I don’t know, probably panic and buy a new hat. Because, you know, nothing says 'Thank you for your support' like a man in a hat wondering why he needs a hat.
But seriously, I might even try playing with both hands this time. Or maybe I’ll just have a drink and think about it.
