MOVIES PLUS NEWS: Zootopia 2 becomes the highest-grossing domestic film of 2025, surpassing A Minecraft Movie

Zootopia 2 has officially claimed the top spot at the 2025 domestic box office. The Disney animated sequel overtook A Minecraft Movie to become the highest-grossing film of the year in the United States and Canada.

The film earned $424.2 million domestically, narrowly surpassing A Minecraft Movie, which finished with $424.08 million. The close race has now concluded with Zootopia 2 leading by a small but decisive margin.

Globally, the sequel continues its massive success story, grossing approximately $1.85 billion worldwide, significantly ahead of A Minecraft Movie’s $961 million global total.

This achievement marks another major milestone for Disney Animation and solidifies Zootopia 2 as one of the biggest box office successes of 2025.

HBO Max Continues Global Expansion, Launching In 12 New Markets In Asia Pacific On March 26

Warner Bros. Discovery today announced that its premier global streaming service HBO Max will launch direct-to-consumer in new markets across Asia Pacific on March 26, including Bhutan, Fiji, Kiribati, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

The upcoming availability of HBO Max in these new markets accelerates the brand’s growth globally, following HBO Max’s recent launch in Italy and Germany, and ahead of the UK and Ireland, also launching in March. HBO Max is the home of the world’s most premium entertainment brands, featuring HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, Max Originals, and the best of Hollywood movies, as well as can’t-miss programming from Discovery and TLC, all in one place.

HBO Max will offer subscribers Hollywood hits like Oscar®-nominated movies, Sinners and One Battle After Another, culture-defining and award-winning HBO and Max Originals such as House of the Dragon, The Last of Us and The Pitt, new series, including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms^, as well as upcoming premieres like comedy series, Rooster, starring Steve Carell, and Euphoria Season three, starring Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer, premiering April 13. Fan favorites, including Friends and The Big Bang Theory, real-life stories like Gold Rush, Deadliest Catch, The Curious Case Of... and family viewing from The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, We Bare Bears and Tom and Jerry to Adventure Time, will also be available to stream^.

From launch, HBO Max will be available for subscription through www.hbomax.com – additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
