Harsh and I haven't been able to agree about one thing, at Prakriti Project
And that is - whether or not to launch semi-polished rice called Thuyamali.
Harsh, along with many members in our team feel we should offer a semi-polished white rice..
as a transition for families who aren’t ready to move directly to unpolished.
But I believe that for 8 years, we’ve stood strongly for unpolished rice. It's what we've been advocating. Because it's the most wholesome form of rice.
So instead of choosing alone, we want to take your vote.
Tell us below - Option 1 or Option 2?

Spent the last 2 days travelling to farms across Karnataka, to find true organic farmers for @prakriti.project
Didn’t expect to be so deeply touched by these visits 🧡
1st photo:
Visited a farmer who welcomed us into his home after taking us to his fields…
and made sure we didn’t leave without eating.
A reminder that farmers don’t just grow our food, but live every minute with generosity 🍚🌿
2nd photo:
Before stepping into the rice fields, the farmers quietly removed their slippers..
To them, rice isn’t just a crop. It’s Annam - sacred food.
We followed their footsteps, converting a simple walk to a deeply healing earthing session 🦶🌾
3rd photo:
Watching jeevamritham being made - nature’s own fertilizer.
Made with cow dung, cow urine, pulses, jaggery & mud.
The organic farmer we visited used no urea or nasty chemicals.
4th photo:
Some gifts of nature we found on the way. Starfruit fallen straight from the tree, jaggery made from organic sugarcane grown right there. Somehow, it all tasted better than anything from a market 😌
5th photo:
A group photo with the farmer and Gowri (@gowrirathi) from our Prakriti Project team.
She’s spent 12 years visiting “organic” farms. She’s been to 400+ farms and rejected most because despite being organic, they weren’t upto the mark..
Blessed to have someone so meticulous guiding our sourcing 🤍
6th photo:
Harsh with a bouquet of ragi stalks (the only kind of bouquet he’s ever given)😄
7th photo:
Finger millet up close - each bud shaped like tiny fingers.
The grain that has fed generations, growing in the palm of our land 🫶
8th photo:
Once those ragi stalks are crushed, the grain emerges, like this.
9th photo:
Just joy in the middle of nature✨
10th photo:
The people behind our food.
They spend their days and nights tending to the soil -
so we can eat with ease 🙏🍲
We spent up to 14 hours in the car, across multiple farms.
You won’t see that part in the photos.
But we’ll keep doing it - because you deserve food that is truly clean, ethical, and verified 🧡
Would you like us to keep sharing these journeys? 🌾✨

When we started building The Prakriti Project, we thought the hardest part would be sourcing the purest grains…
Turns out… the real struggle is what to pack them in 😅
For 8 years now, we’ve spoken about conscious living, clean choices, and respecting nature. So naturally, our heart wanted:
🌱 Zero plastic, eco-friendly packaging.
But then we hit reality.
The paper bags we loved looked beautiful, but…
they would tear during delivery and not keep food fresh for long.
Every expert we spoke to said the same thing:
“Use plastic… or else your project will never even take off”
And that’s where our heart faced a dilemma.
Plastic? For a brand that’s named after Prakriti (nature)?
It felt wrong. It felt like we were going against our own values.
So instead of taking this decision alone,
we want to make it with you.
Please share your views:
Should we wait and find a better solution?
Or begin with plastic (and at least start) while we keep searching?
Whatever we decide, we want it to be a decision taken with you, not just by us.
💬 Please share your vote and your suggestions in the comments.
Maybe someone out there knows a solution we haven’t found yet.
Maybe together, we can do this the right way, not the fastest way.
With love, hope, and lots of confusion,
— Harsh & Subah 🙈🌾💚
