π₯πͺ Jiu-Jitsu is not only a test of physical strength but also a challenge to our mental resilience. Training can be grueling, and competing takes it to an entirely new level. But it's through pushing ourselves to face these tough situations that we truly grow and develop as individuals.
Life is full of challenges, and we must embrace them with open arms. Just like on the mats, it's crucial to chase after the hard moments in life to unlock our full potential.π
We are incredibly proud of our young warriors who competed in the Submission Hunter Pro event over the weekend! Their dedication, heart, and courage in facing tough adversaries are truly inspiring. Keep chasing greatness, kids! You're the future of Jiu-Jitsu! ππ
At 15, I knew I wanted to run my own gym someday. I didn't want to get out of shape working a regular 9-5, and I loved JiuJitsu and fitness. After working at Buffalo Wild Wings, I became a personal trainer at LA Fitness at age 20.
When I was 22, my coach, Raul Jimenez, offered me the opportunity to buy his gym in Spring, Texas. The only problem was that I had no business experience and no money to pay for it. But I took a loan and bet on myself because I believed in my dream. With only competition experience in wrestling and JiuJitsu, and a couple of years as a personal trainer, it was a risky decision, but I knew I was capable of making it work.
Fast forward six years, and I'm 28 with a thriving gym, a fantastic family environment, and a lot of business and leadership knowledge. I get to wake up every day and do what I love, lead a team and work for myself. All because I took a risk and bet on myself, even when the odds seemed stacked against me.
I'm proof that if you believe in yourself and your dreams, anything is possible.
Congrats to all of our athletes who competed this weekend. Everybody showed composure and had fun. No matter the outcome, we come back to train with a family who loves you, supports you, and is dedicated to helping you achieve LONG TERM growth.
Thanks to everyone on the team who came out to support! The energy was a defining factor for us last night.
Finally, shoutout Ty Hazel for winning submission of the night with his gnarley buggy choke!! You the man Ty.π
