University preparation is not just about getting good grades and packing their bags. Your teenager is about to enter an environment where you may no longer be there to monitor every decision. Prepare them for life, not just lectures.
1. TEACH THEM HOW TO MAKE DECISIONS WITHOUT YOU
Start giving them room to make age-appropriate decisions now. Talk through consequences instead of always telling them what to do. University will require them to think, choose and take responsibility.
2. TEACH THEM MONEY MANAGEMENT
They need to know how to budget their allowance, distinguish needs from wants, avoid unnecessary debt and resist pressure to spend because their friends are spending.
3. HAVE HONEST CONVERSATIONS ABOUT SEX AND RELATIONSHIP
Don't assume they already know enough. Discuss sexual pressure, consent, boundaries, pregnancy, STIs, pornography, emotional attachment and the consequences of unhealthy relationships. Give them values and practical wisdom, not just warnings.
4. PREPARE THEM FOR PEER PRESSURE
Teach them how to say “No” without needing to explain themselves. Talk about alcohol, drugs, cultism, cheating, parties, risky challenges and friends who may pressure them into things they wouldn't ordinarily do.
5. TEACH THEM PRACTICAL LIFE SKILLS
Can they cook a simple meal? Do laundry? Keep their room clean? Take care of their belongings? Manage their time? Get around safely? Know what to do when they're sick or have an emergency? Independence requires skills, not just freedom.
6. STRENGHTEN THEIR EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE
University can bring loneliness, academic pressure, rejection, friendship problems and failure. Teach them that struggling doesn't mean they are failing at life. More importantly, make sure they know who they can call when things go wrong.
7. HELP THEM BUILD THEIR OWN CONVICTIONS AND FAITH
Don't let their relationship with God depend entirely on their parents' supervision. Teach them how to pray, study Scripture, make godly choices and find healthy Christian community. The goal is not a teenager who behaves well because you are watching, but a young adult who knows what they believe when you are not there.
The biggest question to ask before your teenager leaves home is:
“If I am no longer there to tell you what to do, have I taught you how to know what to do?”

Where the word of God is CONSTANTLY AND GENUINELY taught there will be no need to conduct special deliverance and healing service. You don't fight an already defeated enemy.
