Wow! In the 90s, I lived in the apartments that are briefly shown on the right side of the screen. Right behind that motel. I loved living there, it was a huge, lovely apartment. Well, I did not love the drunk people who would go to the motel on the weekends and argue outside. 😭 I would yell out the window, “You paid for the motel room. Go inside to fight so the rest of us can sleep!” Sometimes they actually would listen to me. 😂

✔ Who collects the fee? The federal government, via TSA — a DHS agency.

✔ Where does the money go? Into TSA’s federal fee accounts tied to the Confirm.ID program.

✔ What does it fund? Costs of providing the alternative identity verification process (people, tech, admin) so the cost is borne by users, not general taxpayers.
