A tenant in Australia who faithfully paid rent for 23 years was rewarded with ownership of the house by her landlord. According to Australian media, Jane Sayner moved into the modest brick home in St Albans in the early 2000s and faithfully paid her rent every month without fail. She treated the property as her own, maintaining the garden and keeping the house in excellent condition, which impressed her landlord.
He admired Jane’s loyalty and the way she cared for the home, and before he passed away he made the extraordinary decision to transfer ownership of the property to her. This meant that after more than two decades of renting, Jane suddenly became the legal owner of the house she had lived in for most of her adult life.

Sadly, Carol passed away after eight months, and the restaurant briefly closed so the team could honor her memory.
