When I released my version of D’Angelo’s “Unshaken” from the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack in 2018, everything changed for me. Up until then, I was just a small YouTube artist, quietly uploading videos for a modest audience. Somehow, that song resonated with people in ways I never expected it to. The support and enthusiasm from listeners all over the world were overwhelming and humbling.

Since then, I’ve been inspired to keep sharing music that connects with people on a deeper level. Music has always been my way of expressing emotions, and seeing that it resonates with others pushes me to keep going.

Now, I’m taking the next big step by working on my own original songs – music that reflects not only my influences but also my own voice and experiences. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me and to keep reaching people through the music I create.

Hey everyone!

I hope you’re enjoying “A Life In Black II.” It really was such a fun project for me to work on. Right now though, I find myself in a place where I don’t really know what I want to do next.

My dream has basically always been to write, record, and share my debut album, but that’s a project that will take quite a lot of time to finish. Some songs I wrote more than 10 years ago will probably make the cut, but it’s still a bit tricky to navigate through all the genres that has inspired me. Who knows what my own music will end up sounding like… Country? Blues? Folk? Maybe a mix of it all? I guess we’ll see.

Still, I’d like to give myself a break every now and then from the pressure of working on my debut album. So I’d love to hear from you — my… well, “fans,” I guess. That word still feels a little strange to me, but I can’t think of a better one — about what you’d like me to record and release here on this YouTube channel. Is there a song you’ve always dreamed of hearing me cover? Let me know in the comments below!

The last song of the video series is out now! "I'll Fly Away"—a timeless gospel song. I’m a non-believer, but this song still feels close to my heart.
Becoming a father means I can’t make as much music, but seeing you all still here after all these years means the world to me. I love you all.

It's finally here!! Welcome to song number 10 of this video series. "Ain’t No Grave" is one of the most haunting songs Johnny Cash ever recorded. It was released 8 years after his death, and the line “Ain’t no grave can hold my body down” still gives me chills.
I actually started recording this song when I was working on my first A Life In Black album, but it simply wasn’t ready for release back then. I knew I had to give it more time to get it right.
This song was highly requested by you, and I wanted to make sure I did it justice. I hope I managed to capture that powerful, unbreakable spirit that Cash had. Let me know what you think!

Welcome to the eighth song of this video series. "Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream" is a song that bridges cultures and eras. Most people here in Sweden know it as Inatt Jag Drömde by Cornelis Vreeswijk, but Johnny Cash also recorded a version for his final album in the American Recordings series with Rick Rubin.
I grew up with the Swedish version of this song—my dad always played Cornelis Vreeswijk at home, so this song has a very special place in my heart. Hearing Cash’s version later in life gave it a whole new meaning for me.
Now, I also sing it to my daughters when we go to sleep—of course, in Swedish. It’s a way of keeping the legacy alive, and I hope they will remember it when they grow older, just like I remember my dad playing it.
I don’t usually get too political, but this song, at least to me, feels more important now than ever. With all the conflicts happening around the world—between Russia and Ukraine, Palestine and Israel, and many others—I just wish we could all live peacefully on this earth and learn to love each other's differences.
I wanted to create a mashup that honors both versions, keeping the lyrics in English but blending the folk influences from both artists. It’s a song about hope and peace, with a touch of melancholy that makes it timeless. I really hope this version brings out that message of hope while paying tribute to both legends.
