Due to my recent plateau in skill level, and my lack of overall improvement in the game over the past several weeks, where it seems I have been doing nothing but regressing in skill level, I am going to take a temporary break from ScoreSaber, to focus less on score setting and trying to improve my rank, and more practicing and trying to improve my skill. I will still have BeatLeader, because I don’t care about BeatLeader ranked and I still want records of my scores, but I will not have ScoreSaber, and thus my rank will inevitably fall. When I come back, however, I hope to have improved, to have succeeded in broadening my skill set (such as true acc and linear speed), and just maybe have gotten a CS25.

Oh hey, I just remembered to tell everybody that I got ScoreSaber again, and my account has now been considered active again, so I now have a rank in ScoreSaber for the first time in a few months. I got two plays just below the front page, so it’s good to know that I haven’t fallen off.

I have officially taken a break from ScoreSaber. Why? Because I upgraded to 1.37, and now I can’t switch back. I have a new setup now, with custom sabers and no custom UI (because qounters isn’t available for 1.37 unfortunately). I will be ending my break the second ScoreSaber gets released for 1.37. So just know, if you’re wondering why I suddenly stopped submitting scores to ScoreSaber, it’s not through a lack of playing (or a lack of trying on my end. I tried for like 6 hours yesterday and the day before to get 1.28 back). If you want to see any of my scores for whatever reason, check my BeatLeader. I won’t link it here because it’s in the description of all of my recent videos and I couldn’t be bothered to go to the website to copy the link.

I play on 1.28. Despite what people might say about it (ModsBeforeFriday even calls it “an ancient version that nobody should be using”), it has the most mods out of every standalone Quest version out there, some I cannot play without.

ScoreSaber, for instance, isn’t available in 1.37, but it is for 1.28. ScoreSaber is the entire reason I play the game.

Then there are some things that are incredibly helpful quality of life features, like SongRankedBadge or StopForgettingMySettings, which are unbelievably convenient, and fulfill the role of saving me a lot of frustration. Neither of those are available on 1.37.


Then other things, like Colorama, Qounters, Sabertrailer, and Sabertailor, which help you customize your setup to be almost completely unique to you, just don’t exist in 1.37.

1.37 is great, but there are certain things that I just can’t play without. That it why, after using ModsBeforeFriday to upgrade my version to 1.37, installing playlists for the first time in well over a year, being able to submit to official leaderboards, being able to play the new OSTs, and having all the graphics adjustments I could ever want, I still cannot imagine myself stick with that version. It has promise, but it also has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to beat the juggernaut of a version that is 1.28.
